Default Dogs in Crash Helmets

There’s an advert on TV at the moment for the BMW 5-series wagon which I like. The family dog is being called by its owner, about to be taken somewhere in the car, and it doesn’t look too happy about it. It cowers and tries to hide, but eventually emerges wearing a red crash helmet, complete with white cobra stripes. It hops in the boot and looks longingly out the back window at the camera (BIG puppy-dog eyes), when the frame cuts to the driver selecting 1st gear and booting it. Then we cut back to looking at the dog from outside of the car, sad eyes staring back at you as it whumps against the rear window, the car accelerating away… I laugh every single time I see that ad. Last night had me choking on my spaghetti… I think there’s still some up my nose…

The questions I have to pose are these:

1. Upon viewing the attachments to this post and digesting what the outcome might be, should I buy a crash helmet for my dog?
2. Anyone good enough with the old photoshop to give my hound a helmet?

I was surpried that the RSPCA didn't ban the ad as the dog is not secured properly and induring is cause.

I don't really care, but I am very surprised. Then again it is BMW!!

Besides in a motor accident, the dog will break it's neck and back, so a helmet is pointless.

Neeek, I'm afraid your dog looks traumatised enough as it is, spare it the pain, please!

BTW. You might want to ask it to fetch that bit of spaghetti.

Please post the "after" photos.
