Hi all, A quick question,
Has anyone heard/seen this headlight mod. Its for sale on eBay. The add has a lot of images it reads: " What is that? 'Angel Eye' is a cool headlight feature found on the new BMW 5 Series. The projector headlamp unit on the BMW 5 series has a pair of circular-shape rings that when light up, they produce a pair of halos. BMW calls them 'Angel Eyes'. They are also referred to as 'Demon Eyes'. They look very nice on the BMW 5 Series. This conversion could be pretty expensive, but a car fanatic, I have found ways around all the high prices. YOU CAN DO BOTH OF THESE MODIFICATIONS FOR $30 IN PARTS AND 3 HOURS OF WORK!" http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Demon-Eye-Ins...QQcmdZViewItem Uncle_Ken

you need to put little grooves into the plastic rings so that the light can refract/reflect outwards, otherwise it'll stay mostly within the ring. It's these grooves that give off the "halo" look.

I think part of the difficulty with doing this mod however is that you'll probably ruin the water-tight seel on the headlight

They look good & would be good on the round twin light on the XR & any BA. The only problem i have is having to make them my self.

I don't mind the look of them on the Beems and as suggested they'd really only work on a round headlight.. would probably look good on an XR

The instructions for them seem relatively straight forward : |

IF you make those LED's *RED* (per pic and steady burning or not) at the front, I can promise your client a defect, or at best an infringement.

they are sweet...but I dont know how good they would look on a e series XR front...
BMW's have them inside a larger headlight, so if done right I think it would look better on a standard headlight. I would like to do it to, but perhaps EL healdights are too narrow...

The do seem to suit the more recent style of round headlight behind glass cover. Maybe I should invest in some WQ Fiesta headlights.

They looked good... and they didn't cost very much to make.. I have the instructions here somewhere on how to make them and I am pretty sure the maximum cost to make them was around $50 (but could be wrong)..
