Default Didn't think i'd be even thinking of buying a...

Nissan E.T Hatch-Back (body kit) factory turbo(i recon he did a dodgy and put on a bigger turbo - but what the good guys don't no won't hurt 'em :P) - only reason I think that is because he said he has "1" other factory e.t turbos on his work bench...sus hehe ..... $1500 reg ran out oct. this year has 1 single 3" pipe from turbo split into 4x exhaust tips(loud as hell) nad has a 5 speed and is efi .... It has a lot of get up and go and it is the quickest car i've been in (yes even quicker then any ford i've been in... which isn't fast compared to a modded ford of course... which this nissan would crap all over unfortunently) hehe..... Fews weeks and I should have it I hope.

About the "Factory Turbo" thing... that is what he told me... but I am checkin on google as I type this... someone let me know if they actually came out with factory turbos if yas could =)

Edit:

Here is one with a turbo setup:

Yes they did, the biggest worry is gearboxes they're very fragile so unless your gentle on shifts & launches you'd better be friends with a gearbox specialist as you'll be seeing a lot of them.

Yeah, my mate who also had a look at it said he seen an internal boost gauge (where the speedo is..) and an external one on the dash..

Only thing won't pass by the looks of it, the glass headlight lense, the 3" exhaust split out to 4x 3" tips (2 exhausts tips on each side).... and thats about it... it has been trying to sell it for 5 months... with no luck (he didn't put it in the paper etc - he just asked around none wanted it....

Not sure if it was custom.... but it has leather/vinal interior (I think vinal door interior and leather seats - black)

all he wants is $1500 to get his turbo 6cyl 3.3lt on the road.

ETs WERE ONLY TURBO!!! They are called the ET because the engine they have in them is a E15ET! If follows the Nissan engine coding system eg. SR20DET, (engine letter, size, DOHC, Electronic injection(i think), and Turbo.)

ET and in fact even the other NA N12 model pulsars had poor manual gearboxes. A popular mod is to replace the gearbox internals with N13. Doing this mod will also up the final ratio from a 3.23:1 to around 3.91:1 (not sure on this). I did this mod on a NA E15e and it had a very noticable increase. It only lasted a day or so because I forgot to replace a 3mm shim. Another problem with them is they have a hunger for headgaskets.

Another popular mod is a VL throttle body on it. Replace the turbo with at least a T25g (from a S13). If possible get a aftermarket computer.

There is a bit of info on www.n12turbo.com and their yahoo group.

Oh, `ET' = Pulsar. I had to Google `Nissan ET' just to know wtf it was (after about a dozen french sites), is it one of those Pulsar SSS awd things?

Under the hood looks like a mess, I came across this when I was searching, I think it's the same car. It'd be a pain to fix/modify, but if it goes as fast as you say it does...

They do go very hard, not because of the power they make stock, but because they are only 7-800kg or so.

Try to get a 85 model because they have no cat ;)

The ET (4 door Pulsar hatch) was a very similar powerplant/driveline to the EXA (squarish 2 door coupe - not the later targa model) except that the ET had 4 wheel disc brakes. Yes it was a stock factory FWD turbo car (same as the Mitsubishi Cordia) with Aussie-developed suspension.

The Pulsar 4wd turbo model that biggogs is commenting on is the much later (90's) GTi-R.

My mate has one of them.

They pull incredibly hard when they get to 3000 rpm. Its nuts. First time I was in it, I drove I couldnt believe how good it was.

The gearing is nuts. I know this is very naughty but we were doing 180kph in 4th gear. (sorry people. I know its very bad. If i shouldnt be saying speeds like that then a mod can edit it.)

If you get it on the road, have fun suprising people with it. Not too many people know about them and will crap themselves when this little pulsar flies past them.

That pic isn't of the cars engine bay that I am buying... but basically everything in that pic looks exactly the same as the car i'm getting.

I should pick it up in a week or two as soon as I give him a deposit (half the money i'm buying it for...then pay him off from there)

It turned everyones head when we cruising around the block.... i couldn't believe the power it had when I got in it.

I gave vicroads a call today to make sure all chasis and engine numbers matched along with the number plate. The guy told me that the car's registration is suspended for a canarie(bold tyres) the car will be offically unregistered on the 20th of jan of next year. He asked me if I would like to claim owner ship.. and I said yeah.. and he then asked me for his personal details to verify i'm not being a stooge? I didn't have his personal details so I said never mind. He also told me the car has never been a write off - and isn't stolen, so i was happy with that. The guy selling the car to me isn't the actual owner, but he bought it off the guy that name is on the registration... so now I gotta back track to get a receipt and get the guy to hand the plates in(the first owner).... what you guy people think i should do now?

I really want this car and i'll do everything to get it registered under my name - but want to make sure what i'm doin, is goin in the right direction.

The car has unbeliveable power and my mate recons he took it down a *private road strip* and 220 off the clock (yes there is 220 on the speedo.. I thought they only had up to 180 on the speedo.....)

Yeah the ET Pulsar had a factory turboed 1.5 efi fwd motor making 77kw at the engine. In its day it was quite a pocket rocket and very quick off the mark. I was the proud owner of one such vehicle in my younger days an i still miss it now.

All the above info is quite true - espesially the gearbox. I broke two in the 2.5 years i owned it, which wasnt too bad since by the time i sold it, i was pumping out 140kw to the front wheels. Took it to calder once on a 40deg day and managed a wheel spinning 14.4@105mph. This was i full street trim running factory 14" wheels on 185rubber. It had the potential with the right tyres(slicks) to run mid 13's but it wasnt to be - as i could afford the breakages any longer.

Going back 3 years ago when i had the ET the n12 race was in full swing - the record for the worlds quickest n12-e15et engined car went to MRD with them running 11.5@126mph. Second was a guy in sweeded running 11.7 and 3rd another melbourne dude Con who had a long time standing record of 12.2 at 118mph.

If you want more info let me know - i got heaps on the mighty e15et
