Hi,
I have a problem that when starting my car it takes a while to click in... also when idling there is a very prominant vibration... what could cause this?? and also how can i fix it myself?? a bit short of cash. Im thinking its the timing... but not sure. Thanks alot |

Hi guys i just had another thought that it might be the rear engine mount for the vibration problem... because there is no vibration while moving, does that sound right... im not the most car minded person any ideas would be appreciated

Vibration sounds like when idle the RPM is too low. Is your KH carb or EFI?

Mine is the same, I blame engine mounts (apparently one has sagged) but I've never gotten around to doing anything about it. My car is auto and I put it into neutral at the lights. The engine mounts are very very expensive, at least for the 1.8.

Engine mount for the B8 will be around the $100 mark, is worth doing, longer you leave it the more problems that will arise.

I recall Ford wanted as much as $170, and Repco was only a bit cheaper.
