I've never, ever been more angry with a car parts supplier than I am right now...
I'm about ready to dump this whole installing new cam in my ute. I've been trying to get an adjustable cam gear for my ute. I went into Repco in Maroochydore on Saturday to get one, they apparantly had one in stock (according to the computer) but couldn't find it. I asked them if they can get one in for me and they said they'll ring the supplier Monday and get one in, and it would be here today. I rang them to see if it came in about 5 minutes ago, and the f**kin smarta** on the other end said "No, we haven't ordered it. You had to pay first". I should've told him to get fruited. So there maybe an EOI thread in the For Sale section soon, unless I change my mind...

have you tried auto one in maroochy, is not far from repco i think, they are the only one who carries foam filter oil as well.
p.s. if it on the computer they should just order it, but custom parts do require pre-payment.

I might go to the Repco in Nambour, at least they were helpful. I told them my situation, and they went out of their way to help me to try and get one here Monday.

yeah i agree, but from what i see, the 'experienced' people are in during the week, and casual morons work on weekends.
if you work in an auto store then you are expected to know stuff, i am at a point now if it's not in store then i will look else where, its just easier.

dont talk to me about ИИИИИИИИИ repco.
me "hi i need to get a price on a new alternator to suit an XD 4.1 blah blah" them "ill see if i can bring it up on the computer btw whats an alternator?" a good mech friend told me to get "ngk somethingorother" sparkplugs for my old six. he told me that the work i had done to the motor plus the fuel and all this other stuff these would be the go as he had done it before with good results. the bloke at repco disagreed "wtf do you want them for, they are the s**t ones... get these" ...they didnt even suit the 4.1 alloy head they were for a 351. then there was the distributor fiasco... I'm still not happy with the service received. If they wanted a sale, they should've outlined exactly what needed to be done.
"I'm after this part". "We need to order that in. We'll need pre-payment first before we order" It's that bloody simple.

Not so here in Wagga. All the staff know their stuff.
Manager went out of his way to try to get a dashboard mat that fitted properly, after 3 attempts -all of which had to be brought in from Melb or Syd- and still no joy he happily refunded our cash!. Service is great, prices aint!

I stopped using REPCO (Rip Every Poor C*** Off) when I purchased a new fuel pump ($210) for my EL off them. Fitted it and I worked for around 10 seconds. They blamed contaminated fuel/tank for the failure. Guess what the $100 pump I bought via my dad (mechanic), is the same pump. It's been in the car over 2 years. It was fitted no more than 1-2 hours after the REPCO pump and it was delievered to my door for $100! They are ****ers.
This was the Cranbourne store by the way.

The new narre-warren repco seem to be good and helpful (which is handy as they are my closet auto parts store), the one at Hallem are not too bad either.

The only reason I'm using Repco is because I have a 20% discount voucher good until March.
EDIT - Well, I've been saved. Repco in Nambour are ordering one in for me and it will be here Friday, with no pre-payment. How bloody helpful is that?

Something I've learnt from talking to the old bloke at the 'Gabba Repco is their computers will show 1 in stock no matter what. If it shows 2 or more, you're in luck, its in store

Mainly deal with REPCO Barinsdale, which can be down right painful. On any measure.
Yet have dealt with REPCO in Hallam occasionally, and also REPCO Dandenong. Both were very helpful, and gave my trade discount even though I'd just walked in off the street. Bursons down this way are a lot more helpful (helps when some of them are revheads too)

you think that is bad, i went to auto pro for a 2.5 inch red back exhaust for a EB wagon, they said it'll be here in the morning, so i drive and get it (30km drive) and sure enough it's there, so i go home pull my exhaust off and spend 1 hour trying to fit the tail pipe only to find it's a sedan one, so i call them, they say we'll have the right one here tomorrow morning. next day i get dad to take the morning off of work to drive me in to get it, once again it's there and this time it's a wagon one, get home slides in perfectly got to put the mounting rubbers on, and ИИИИ me dead there's no brackets for the rubbers. go inside call em again same thing it will be here tomorrow. next day get a lift with dads mate, this time i check the ИИИИer out good and proper and at last it's the right one, get home bolt it on and drive away happily ever after |

You should have asked to speak to the manager of the store to complain about the service if a smart mouth order taker flogged you off as a customer.
Most auto stores only have fast moving stock in store so they have to order the item in for you if its in their main warehouse & a stock line that does sell most times you don't put a deposit down only a contact name & number. But you would have to pay up front or leave a good deposit if they have to order the part in from a supplier. Repco is not the only auto parts suppler that has some unhelpful people |

Well by the sounds of this I must have 1 of the BEST REPCO stores around
I ring they deliver . get it right first time if i tell them the right part . I ring They deliver . If there is a chance that there is 2 diffrent types They just bring them both AND if they say they will be there soon then they are there within 45min at the most BURSONS on the other hand I ring They deliver ................ Maybe not that hr or even that day if they dont have the part AND they never call you back to tell you they dont have the part so your left Car High and no go Repco we spend about 1,700 a week through Bursons now only when we have too maybe 500 ? Repco has 3 ex mechanics there 2 newbies and 4 other good workers Bursons has 2 flower girls 1 senile guy 1 GREAT guy 1 helpful with old holdens and 2 useless ppl Blah you could go to supercheap and get a 15yo kid that thinks his mums sigma is so cool and can beat anything |

I get parts alot cheaper due to trade discount. But then Repco will be one of the last supplers that i wll go to, to get parts ! Nomater what supplyer you get parts off, you will get your dumb ones behind the counter unfortuneatly. But Repco is just way too expensive...even tho we get our parts alot cheaper than retail.....they are still to expensive. Sometimes we get the exact same part but about 20 - 50 % cheaper of another supplyer than to Repco...and im talking trade prices, not retail.

I have only went to Repco once and that was for some lock nuts. Had to order them in. Why? We have run out of stock. Oh ok then. Well get some in for me. Give ma a call and I will come down and get them. Get a call 2 weeks later saying if I wasn't down that day they would sell them to someone else. What happened to original phone call. Anyway went down there payed. Walked out, got home tried to fit them. They are the wrong ones.
