Aside from the obvious answer, how does one tell a single spinner from an LSD on an AU?

Burnouts = no thanks.
Hoist not available.

If you have to ask you haven't got one have you!

The diff won't look any different so back to the obvious. Tag's and stuff all good but if its second hand who knows? My diff still has the factory 3.23 label on it!

the old old diffs used to have a red tag on it to indicate lsd, but i think the new ones are no more

easiest way to see is to jack up the rear and sping one wheel, if the other one spins same direction as well its lsd (dont quote me)

My other ideas was to do that spinning idea, if nobody could point me in the direction of this tag thingy. Thanks all!

There will be a tag on the filler bolt.

There usually is a tag that hangs off your Diff:

Here's my tag.

But what I would like to know is how do you tell what size diff you have?

It's probably too late but all you needed to do was jack up one wheel & see how difficult it is to turn.

If it has an LSD the wheel should be fairly difficult to turn depending on the condition of the diff, atleast requiring two hands to turn the wheel.
