Angry Another Idiot walks free

Im sure others heard on the news tonight that the bloke who drove his car into a school in dandenong, Drunk and Unlicenced which caused many kids to be injured including one little boy to lose his legs was given a suspended sentence and has walked free from any jail time today.

What a bloody discrace........

Thats pathetic.

Is it any wonder the criminal justice system is treated as a joke with decisions like that.

I heard the judge said something about his troubled childhood in whatever country was a factor in the light sentence?

What a bloody joke. I guess the kid who lost his foot can get away with murder now.

or at least driving drunk into a crowded school yard and fleeing the scene.

I think this stinks, I hope the parents file a civil suit and claim $100 million in damages. Based on the stupid legal system they can probably get it too

And they wonder why there is so much trouble in todays society. Why even bother having laws, when they are lax like this.

Just because a kid has a troubled childhood does not mean they can drive around unlicensed, drunk, crash and flee the scene. People have to be responsible for thier actions, they know what the rules are.

Should make the low life sit down in front of the little boys who's life he ruined's family and listen to the heartache he's caused and view the irreversable damage he's caused! Then of course let the father flog the sh*t outta him afterwards!

Nup, the best thing to do would be to send him straight back to where he came from. Drive him straight from court to the airport, mate your family can mail your stuff back.

Why the hell should potential law abiding refugees be held in detention centres while we've got deadbeat woodducks breaking the law time after time and getting away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

When I get a free weekend, it would be great to track him down and break both his legs.

You'll probably get 15 years for it.

I'd recommend getting blind drunk and driving over his legs.. then hitting him with a few bricks.

Claim the riots traumatised you.. walk out with 2 years good behaviour and a free healthcare card

I nearly fell off my bloody chair when I saw this on the news tonight. This is an absolute disgrace. How and more importantly why should the general public have faith in the justice system when they hand down ridicules verdicts like this?

This is not over. I’m sure that the DPP will appeal the verdict under public pressure. The magistrate responsible for this decision, judge Peter Gebhardt should resign in shame. What sort of deterrent to others is this?

Cheers, Danny

I think the judges should go back to school. This is stupid. Having a poor childhood is not an excuse to crime.

So, let me get this right.
This knob jockey comes here, breaks a string of our laws, causes a potential 'troubled childhood' for the little guy who lost his leg/s, but that just doesn't matter, because after all, he had a 'troubled childhood in another country'...
Is it any wonder our society is a mess when assholes like him WALK (the most important word to the little guy with no leg/s) free.

Easy solution to this.
Pack him up, f--k him off.

He can't speak a word of our language, obviously has no understanding of our laws (he is a multiple drink-driving offender), and has no regard for the people of this country.

HEY AMANDA Bl00dy VANSTONE, wake up!!

Who is responsible for letting scroats out of the slammer for unsupervised visits to city. Aren't they suppossed to be locked up for a reason? The court and jail system in this state is totally ИИИИed!!!!!!!

What I've seen go on in court rooms would make me vomit if I didn't have a strong stomach.
Whilst we have a system that isn't accountable except to themselves and this system staffed by failed barristers and solicitors we are always going to have these sorts of decisions.
It's a good thing that the charge of Contempt of Court doesn't cover the fact I feel nothing but contempt for the court.

I have 4 young kids. If any of them were my kids he would have been wheeled into court himself and I'd be nexted with AT LEAST the charge of grevious bodily harm.

I'd go for the "never been in trouble/temporary insanity due to greif/media is all over this case once I put a star picket though each of his knees and pinned him to the ground" defense.

Casper, you were beaten as a child, remember? It's quite obvious those painful memories have cause you to do this.

Even Lionel Hutz could get you off here.

There seems to be a lot of talk here.

I believe the word "bullИИИИ" sums up what everyone here is thinking.

That or "disgusting".

Sadly, this is becoming the trend for all of these and other offences. The deterrant to stop normal people getting drunk and driving contemptuously has always been potential jail time however with the magistrates and judges today, everything is out the window and they seem hellbent on undermining societies values. Its inexcusable behaviour and quite frankly selfish where judges and magistrates seem to want to be known as mates amongst the criminal element as opposed to receiving threats by the same group. None of this will change until sadly, it is a loved one of a judge that suffers the same fate as these innocent children.

Justice is basically anything but justice in this country and the state governments are all to blame as they appoint the magistrates, yet refuse to reign them in or fire them.

I feel we need the US system where judges are elected by the people and need to be doing the right thing to stay as a judge or else they are voted out. Currently they are appointed by the state government, so political pressures such as jail populations have an influence on sentencing recommendations.

The type of people judges are remind me of this joke.
What do judges deem to be obscene?
Anything that gives his honour a fat.
