Well, i love my BA fairmont ghia, it looks nice, it goes realy fast and has all the bling bling stuff that you could want in an aussie made car.
The problem is.... i still love my AU, almost a bit more than my BA, and i have been having unclean thoughts about selling it (BA) and downgrading for an AU t3ts50, or an xr8 with all the goodies. Nothing is wrong with my BA, its just that i love the look of the AU's ALOT more than i do the BA's. Everytime i see an AU with a bonnet bulge and that nice V8 rumble go by, it makes me want one more and more and more. What would you guys think i should do? I need a good slap i think! : |

did you have the choice before you brought the BA?
Wouldn't you lose out now? T3 is better than any damn BA...

i DID have the choice to buy a t3.. i was going to, but insurance was a joke, almost 3Grand a year. My 90G truck is only 1000 to insure for me, 21 years old.. go figure.
only thing that would make me get one now would be if insurance wasnt so much! thats why i bought the v8 ba ghia, close enough but not quite what i really wanted! and at the proce i got it for.. it was a bargain. |

I see the au's driving around and they just dont look old for some reason. I know the styling was a flop when they came out but they still look like a newly designed car. I see the vt driving around and it looks old but the au seems to be holding up very well.

I think it's a rare case of a model coming out after a superseded model, that the superseeded one actually looks more modern - mainly the rear. I love the sharp AU rear lights.
That doesn't make much sense, but meh....

Shiny, very soft, artificially valued higher than its actual worth by those who like shiny things and those who have a vested interest is retaining or increasing its value... Do you really think AUs are like that? Beware the wrath of the friendly ghost. You may be mistaken for a rabbit.......... |

my 2 cents ... owning an AU II XR6 .... looking at the outsides of the car , the AU XR tickford front ends are still the bomb .. after peering inside a BA i couldnt believe how squarish everyhting looked , all the dash squared up more , centre of steering wheel more square where the air bag is - and all that black and siler crap around the speedo etc etc ... i could have almost sworn i was sitting inside my oldmans RAV4 !!! - apart from the ride height ... they really are a nice car no doubt about it the BA-BF , but its gone to square for my liking - reminds me of volvo ) ..

Keep the BA and upgrade the AU to the T3.
BA for the weekday T3 for the weekend I think there'd be a few people who would love that situation....
