The asking price is $1200 ono. If anyone is interested, I took his contact no, his name is Craig 97914177 or 0412 777 774.
Sorry i have not got any pics, i left phone at home.
By the way, I do not have any association with the car. Just posted it out of interest to others.

front screen is identical to 4 door, the doors and those windows are the same, rear quater windows need to be custom, unsure about rear window

would say rear window is the same, at most is just angled down a little more

front doors have been extended (look at distance between back of door and rear wheel arch) which means door windows would be custom, and yes rear quarter windows too

You said it...i was thinking about geting a forte shell and decking it with all the goods for the circuit only, just so I didn't have to worry about bending my T. Thats very tempting...make a good saloon shell to use for racing.

Cheers.

i have thought the same about the rear windows, so i must agree with you there ...

i retract my opinion of the doors, i was (for whatever reason) convinces that the doors were kept the same on the previous 2 door AUs

If you're referring to the Hillier AU coupes, then no the doors are not the same as sedan.
Quote:
Although not immediately obvious, the roof has been "chopped" (lowered) in such a way that the front and rear windscreens remain factory items - an important consideration given the fragility of these items! To accomplish this, the Hillier's have carefully leaned both sets of pillars towards the centre of the car - shortening the roof to suit and creating a much sleeker profile as a bonus. The obvious bits are the lengthening of the rear quarters and fabrication of new door skins to create those magnificent long coupe doors.

The green AU1 XR below is the original Hillier Coupe they built.

It was apparently bought off the Hilliers and turned into the 300+ Coupe below.

Noticed the rear 1/4 window is a lot different to the original coupe the Hilliers built. Personally, I prefer the rear 1/4 window of the green XR. Looks alot more smoother than the Millard designed 300+ rear window. But the lines of the side window base line is different to the one on eBay. The one on eBay stays at original, where the Hillier Coupes slope upwards to give it a 70's look about it ala Mustang Camaro (Coke bottle shape).

Falkeen, DOO IIIT!! You got the talent to pull it off mate. And what a statement it would make for your company AWC. And if you require help, I'm sure Troy and Clayton would lead you to their contact re the glass and door trims ect, ect. :. But as usual, that one thing that stops all our fun is the major factor.

ive seen a fairly recent pic of the green one (which is a 6 cyl), and a red XR8 one side by side, so the green one wouldnt be the 300+.

im pretty sure millard had the hilliars build them a bare coupe shell (ala whats for sale in this thread) and then millard went to town on it....

I've thought of this too. But on another thread, a member here (Death XR I think it was) was adamant that the green one is the one that was turned into the 300+. I know he has a bit to do with the Ford and the Discovery Center in Geelong, so I guess he'd know a little bit more than me.

When the first 300+ Coupe appeared for the first time, I read somewhere that the car was not a Hillier buit item at all.

For your information i though ill straighten thing out here.

The 300+ coupe was not built by the hillers brothers at all. It was built by a perth performance company as the built a 2 and 4 door version. They started the body from scratch so it not the hillers XR. The cars were powered by 4.6L Boss Mustang engine, supercharged! There was only one 4 door model built as unsure how many 2 door were built. Retail price were 4 door $90,000 while 2 door were $ 125,000. Hope this clear this up.

WRONG!!

The green coupe *IS* the 300+. I don't know the whole story, but Sprintex did borrow/loan/buy their first coupe (that's part of the story I don't completely know, but I know that they weren't initially aware that the green coupe was going to become what it did - there's more to it that probably only the Hilliers and Sprintex know...) Millard took the green coupe and modified it. Notice the modified roofline is the same, and is the giveaway, Millard just gave the end of the window a pointed look, altered the front/rear bars and the bonnet. Sprintex then dropped in the modular engine + supercharger. Remember, the 300+ was a prototype built to get the public interested, and Ford involved. Ford shyed away, and public was just left with a cool idea. There was a couple more cars built, but those were 4 door cars with a 5.4l supercharged engine but then Ford/FPV released the BA, XR6 turbos, GTs, etc.

Discovery has known the Hilliers for quite some time. I got the chance to chat to Troy and Clayton at the Motorshow a few years back when they unveiled the Raptor ute, and I did ask a few questions about the whole green coupe/300+ story. That's why I know. We also got the chance to check out their Tenterfield workshop last year whilst travelling back from QLD, saw how they are pumping out those hearses. Troy is full of good (funny!) stories, such as the one regarding how they got the ute that ended up appearing at this years Summernats at the PPG stand.

Yeah, they did the Arrow. I think someone had bought that while it was still doing the promo rounds, I assume once the promo thing was done with, the purchaser took posession of it.

DeathXR i not sure about that. Maybe they use the prototype from the Hillers but not the other models. No they use the Boss 4.6L Mustang engine straight from america.

I'll find some fact and post them up here soon.

No one said Sprintex did use Hillier coupes for the other cars they did. But the 300+ was the green coupe. Don't just take my word for it either. When the 300+ came out, Street Machine had a bit on and also made mention of the old green coupe - and the Hilliers and Street Machine have a long history...

As for the engines, I got confused with AEC/Sprintex changeover from AU->BA. Even as recently as 2004, they were still planning to do 300+s (based on BAs, and milder in look to the AU versions) but nothing's been heard from that group since.

So we can put the whole green coupe vs 300+ thing to bed once and for all...

Link to article on the Arrow.

First two paragraphs under the heading 'Once Bitten, Twice Try'.

"A two-door AU Falcon coupe isn’t new to
Aussie muscle car fans. Most have already
seen the original [the green coupe] version built by Troy and
Clayton Hillier in modified car shows and
magazines. This was followed by last year’s
media frenzy over the Millard/AEC ‘300+’
two-door Falcon show car. Fact is, both cars
are one and the same.
The original Hillier car was snapped up for
the 300+ project which, apart from the original
body surgery, they had nothing to do with.
Arrow is actually what Troy and Clayton
planned to build had they been given the
300+ project to do from start to finish."

If you google for 'AEC' (who own Sprintex), 'Hillier' and '300+' you'll find a link to a non-existant page, but has the following text...

"...got a donor Hillier two-door Falcon to start..."

The link was on AEC's very own website.

Sprintex have a few links to articles on the 300+ project, including this one from Zoom mag which also mentions the Hillier link.

Link to Zoom article

However, this article contradicts the first article, claiming the Hilliers were involved with top-level meetings about the 300+ (though they weren't...)

I know that AWC now have a showroom. So even if they were to paint the car, install the other body parts and put an interior in the car, they could display it in the Show Room till they have enough time one day to complete a full ground up build. They wouldn't even have to open the bonnet. Put some cut springs up front to similate the car has a Big Block V8 in it :
