Default Which oil do you recommend?

I know this has been done to death here before but I would like some expert opinion for my specific car. The mods to it are below and the engine has done a fair few kay since I have to drive 100k each way to work on the freeway. I'm currently using Penrite HPR30 and a K&N oil filter, which I change every 5 thousand kay or so. If I changed to synthetic would I be able to let it go to 10k between changes and would the lower vicosity have an adverse effect. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Russ.

I use Valvoline 20W-50 10L Bulk pack from supa cheap. I add a bottle of nulon E20 every change. Valvoline oil filter. 480,000kms and still going.. sometimes slight tick, sometimes not... probably an oil pressure issue

I just changed mine over to Nulon 15/50 fully synthetic. $45 from Autobarn and it has made the lifters a little quieter so we'll see how we go.
