I reckon my car is great, until all of a sudden, it seems to have a lot of problems come on at once. Get them fixed and it's an awesome car for ages, till yet again, numerous problems arise. The EA looks great, is comfortable, powerful, well equipped, and was made in Australia, but I wouldn't go as far as saying I have an emotional attachment! I make no secret that I want to upgrade to a later model at some stage, particularily since the EA is at that age and no. of kms that thing do start to break. Still, the sound and power of the MPi engine means all is forgiven.

I've got the BA XR8 up for sale and am dusting of my EF Gli. Sounds nuts hey. But if I throw a blower on the XR8 I void the waranty, not nice if I blow the motor or drive train.
I can do what ever I want to the EF and its cheap to fix. There are so many power upgrades available for e-series cars. I prefer to spend my money on those power upgrades rather than depreciation as with the XR8. The sedate look of the e-series especially the EF has really grown on me too. I'm adding a supercharger, cam upgrade, extractors, CAI, and 3.9's. Considering a stock motor with supercharger is said to do 240FWKW I don't think 260KW with those mods is too much of a stretch. The number speak for themselves, BA XR8 : (260KW/1822KG)*1000 = 142.7 KW/Tonne EF Gli : (260KW/1560KG)*1000 = 166.7 KW/Tonne What more can I say. The e-series is a great base for a -10grand sleeper that will flog most anything out there. There is a hell of a lot less mass to get moving than with a B Series or current model clubsport... |

Yes, many later model much more expensive cars are going to get a big surprise from a stock looking gunmetal e-series in the near future. A certain mate recently laid out $63,000+ for a new clubsport. (297KW/1702KG)*1000 = 174.5 KW/Tonne
I only need to find another 12KW to match that. But I'm thinking he's in trouble even with me running in a mild state of tune due to the huge amount of low down torque a supercharged 4.0 can produce. I love my e-series! |

This is my 2nd EF.
I like it because I own it, it still looks sorta modern inside & out, it won't depreciate as much as my AU did or a BA would.. But saying that my next car will be a late model v8 & the EF will still be my daily driver..

If this simple poll about gauging Ford nuts' opinions on their E Series is something you don't like, then don't read it. I don't see how people showing how passionate they are about the Ford(s) they own on a Ford forum is lame. It reminds me of having to listen to people who choose to watch a TV show they don't like, whinge about it being on TV. If you don't like it, then why waste your time with it?

Ever since the ford brought out the the EL fairmont in 97.. ive always said i would own one... (as a 12 year old) 7 years later i bought one and i wouldnt think of buying anything else. it gets treated as royalty! with the occasional flogging!
