Fuggem, they have shown that they do not care what impact it is having on the rest of the world, and saying they can do nothing about it is absolute BS.
Since 2000 the price of oil has gone from US$10/barrel to US$75/barrel. OPEC then said they were cutting production as they thought the price was too cheap. They said in 2001 that they wanted the price to stay around US$20-23/barrel and that by 2005-2007, that would be the norm. Three times that amount later, they are telling us there is nothing they can do. The Arabs better make hay while the sun shines because we will have alternative fuel in the next 10 years and then we will want nothing from the middle east; nothing for them to trade with.
