I actually did the Inner part of the disc dark blue same as the car color last monday too , came up a treat. Makes the wheel area look alot tidier ;) .

Because of the hi-temps reached around the disc/brake area , try to use heat resistant paint , engine enamel works fine , or propper calliper paint , or even better for that super glossy finish is the colored epoxy heat resistant paint, this epoxy paint is especially good for doing the inner part or the disc - as most inner disks are covered with surface rust , using epoxy heat resistanat paint saves having to treat the inner disc surface with a kill-rust agent , as epoxy works as a kill-rust agent alone ! . ( but of course wire brush the excess surface rust off before painting ;) ).

For the callipers, Export paint @ $3 per can is all you need. Seriously. Callipers do not get hot enough to melt the paint, and if they do, you have bigger things to worry sabout than blistering paint (like a total lack of brakes, for instance). Same goes for the discs/wheel hubs, though they may get a little hotter than the calipers, so at least engine enamel on them would be prudent.

I've seen calipers and inner disc done with normal paint , it simply doesn't last - even the calipers get pretty hot from the heat transfered from the pads during hard braking. Normal road use you might get a year or a bit more out of normal paint before it starts baking and flaking , but for the extra $7 to $10 for the propper heat resistant paint which will last heaps longer makes it worth spending the few extra $$, besides that the normal paint tends to have a bad habit of smelling bad as it heats up when using the brakes hard .

This was one of the first things i did. How ever, being the perfectionist i am, i took the brakes calipers off and gave em numerous coats. But the do look a treat if you notice em.
But yeah i had to paint the hub of the brakes too, worse to do that the calipers because of the fiddly taping i had to do.

In the end i used 2 cans of VHT red brake paint, 1 VHT black brake paint, and 1 or 2 bottles of brake fluid.
