Which AUs had a sensor on the header tank? Apparently there's some that do, some don't.

Yep just replaced mine it was just over 100 from FORD with the sensor wires on it , the old one cracked where the radiator hose goes into the base of the tank , it was only a 10 min jobbie the longest part was draining the coolant from the old one with out spilling it.

Forte, XL definately didnt get a level sensor. Pretty sure XLS and Futura didnt either (just double checked a 01 Futura and it didnt). XR, Fairmont, Fairlane got one.
Sensor is EA-10K888-A, worth around $58.30. Tank without sensor hole is ER-8A080-A, worth around $67.20 Tank with sensor hole is ER-8A080-B, worth around $123.20 Hope that helps, Tim

Mostly the float gives on them. The float isn't listed for AU but is for BA, much cheaper too.

Funny you should all mention this , i noticed also a while back while looking at others pics compared to mine , and that my 2000 model AUII XR6 VCT doesn't have a sensor either for the coolant level.
