First offence is 48 hours impoundment unless he was on his 2nd?

I bet he'll be running next time...

I not sure wether to beleive the hype that these people are going to start running? I think it more likley that they just won't do it anymore anywhere where there is a chance of being caught - i.e. at the very least it will get them out of populated areas.

EDIT - I am strongly against permanent confiscation, but 3 months is OK to me.

hhmm good to see the coppa's out *saving lives* (sarcasm). Its easy to say 'take it off the street' but seriously WHERE can we go????? particularly those that live no where near a venue. If the authorities were serious about this they would have a place where people could go for *recreational driving* but i think they want it to stay on the street so they can fine people. It all comes down to the $$$

Don't be such a twit. As if the authorities are denying you a place for recreational driving simply because they want the money from the fines.

That is the most arrogant and ill-informed thing I have ever read.

Daniel.

I agree with you T_Terror.

Sounds like there was a little bit of info, so the rest of the story was made up.

The legislation was only enacted on the 1st of July. If the dude has already had his car seized for 48 hours, then got it back and has been caught again, all in just two weeks, then maybe its a good thing?

Dont be misled by the optimists. Car enthusiasts are THE enemy in this governments eyes. Tight vehicle standards, car confiscation and now theyre trying to stop ANY motorsport that isnt at Calder, Winton or Broadford.
