first 'naturally' caused problem of my AU
it happens when i rev to about 3k push clutch in and the whole car just thumps and jerks and bunny hops and the clutch is making a 'grinding' noise and feel, knocking noises from around the diff area, brakes squeeled like *** when parking thats about it... is it time to sell or trade the car in for scrap metal? or service the parts its only happened yesterday/today i even change gear at 2k and it does the same but feels like theres not enough revs to keep the car moving in the next gear. btw car is a AU3 SR, I6 mech stock, 5sp man... any help appreciated

does it do the bunny hopping thing when you push the clutch in or when you put in gear and then release the clutch?

Your adjustment is probably just of a bit. does your clutch engage as soon as u press the pedal or near the floor?

if it wont go into gear just pump the clutch once or twice this goes for all cars. im guessing ur just letting the pedal out too quick. u should only need to push the pedal in a couple cm's to disengage it. if it needs to be adjusted its as simple as tightening/loosening the nut on the engine bay side of the firewall.

it might not be you, there are multiple reasons for this happening. at work we have 2 turbo diesel canter trucks, and 3 n/a ones. the turbo ones do something similar to this all the time, its just less noticeable if you dump the clutch, but the n/a ones never do it. it could be a warped clutch or pressure plate, or even a warped flywheel. i guess it really depends on how heavy you are on the clutch |

I just got into a CG Lancer VRX manual for the last 2 days as the ute is off the road at the moment ... and I haven't driven a manual in 12 months ... has been great fun the last couple of days ... my first 10-11 years of driving was in a manual only ... so the last 12 months has been torture driving an auto. You get complacent with an auto ... the left foot gets lazy ... first intersection I nearly stalled the damn thing cos i forgot ... after that it's been great fun though ... I miss driving a manual.

Also driving a manual shows how much of a dog the Ford BTR auto really is.

Maybe you have an engine misfire under load. Check the plug leads first.
