Well I dont know how it will go, the crowds at the narre warren store appear to be normal now, on many occasions in the past week I have seen about 3 cars in the drive through, thats right just 3 cars.

Well to get a licence it was $1,000,000 then you have to build the store

I hope it goes bankrupt very fast.............

Most of the openings are on the site http://www.krispykreme.com.au/storeopenings.html or through their email anouncements if you're subscribed....yes it is pretty lame to be subscribed to a donut shop.....

McDonald's was the same plus you used to have to work for an entire 12 months without earning any money eg living off your own expenses.

The Boost Juice franchise is also some ridiculous amount of money although they do do a lot of the thinking for you with respect to setting you up.

Well they've got council approval and finances for one up here. I really cant stand KK though, but atleast it might be a rallying point for local car enthuasists.

But then again it will probably just become a rallying point for ricers and other undersirables.

I haven't seen a more dead end franchise than the Falafel Kitchen's. There is one on Lygon St here in Melbourne and it is dead quiet. Mind you all the other places are busy but this hole; nada.

i don't see a huge problem with their being in business in Melbourne. It doesn't bother me any more than any of the other american doughnut stores already here! we went there on sat night about 7pm and had to wait 45minutes in the drivethrough, quite a few cars were there. The donuts were pretty rank in my opinion, i would have preferred Mr Donut. Either way it's a long drive to narre warren from thomastown, and now the next one is to be opened in Knox ?? You'd think if they had some intelligence they may open one in the north, to balance the huge drive required to buy a doughnut (for those that way inclined).

Saturday nights are still really busy. I waited 2 hours! It was at 11:00pm till 1:00am. Cars were banked up to the second round about. I only stayed because it took 1 hour from Mill Park. I really wasn't expecting it to be waiting 2 hours when I left. Ahh well.

I also think having another one over that way is dumb. Or maybe people over there like dohnuts more. I didn't think they were that great either.

About time that they opened up some more store's, it's ridiculas the long cue's and waiting time, my nephew had to wait 1 and a half Hour just to get his Crispy Kremes fix. I must say they are the best donuts around though.
Cheers John

i had a choc iced with sprinkles, which was quite nice even a couple of hours after it was purchased. However we also had a chocolate one, devils.... something can't remember the name, it's like a rough surfaced chocolate cake type donut. It was dry as a dead dingo's aparatus. Which was a shame becase the taste was quite good, but can't stand dry cake! It's like eating a stale cup cake (not that i eat cup cakes........) ok i'm putting my foot in it now...

It was EMPTY at 4am last week ;) So even got a free box of donuts courtesy of the girl I was with who paid for it.

However just 3 hours earlier there were 25 cars in the drive through (mainly p platers).

After eating the donuts I can't say they're very nice, too sugary & sickly.

Got a blowout on the way home unfortunately.

Can only imagine the dramas once Knox opens, should be interesting, I wonder if they'll ever build one near chapel street?

dont get me started..

****ing down rain, full queue, follow their signage, then get to the window to be told i wont be served because i apparently "jumped the queue".. ha! really good thing to tell someone in drivethrough.. 25 mins later after arguing with the manager i was told just to go thru the drivethru bit again and i had no restrictions... between the 4 of us, 20 boxes of krispy kremes entered the ford.. ill get a photo up. we had to stop and load into the boot..

what a night..

I went, I waited, I purchased and quite frankly, the money would have been better spent on some councilling for my missus who forced me to go and queue up for just over an hour... I've had better oil balls from roadside vans...

Jeez you just cant please some people. We dont have any stores and you complain, and now we have one, with more to come and you still complain.

Why on Gods name there is not one in Melbourne is beyond me. They also need one in geelong or somewhere close like that.

A 2.5/3h trip for donuts is crazy.

But god they are good. Not a real fa of the assorted, just the plain ones...mmmm

yes good old Ray Kroc was a smart man - have the customers pay for the hamburgers so the franchisee can pay his franchise fees to buy him more properties - i believe they own the land and building of every store except the shopping centre ones where they rent. But it is a win/win situtation because the franchisees do make good money from their business too by having the name.
I think KK will do well too.

Well the one in Acland Street gets a few through... Anyway a place like that would go gang-busters here in Adelaide– not saying Krispy-Kreme wouldn't!

Can't wait

I do the regular "Donut run" to Naree so Knox will be much closer.
I love their donuts......much better than Donut King and any of the supermarket donuts as well.
Although the Vic Market Swiss style donuts are worthy of a mention here.

Go the KK
