Hello.

Knowing nothing about cars is not a crime. I assure you that there was a time that each and every poster on this forum knew little to nothing of automotive lore.

A couple of pointers may be in order though:

The folks hereabouts take a very dim view of 'txt' posting, keep it as clear and concise as possible.

When you ask a question (yes, they are welcomed, there are no end of people eager to help here), make it plain as to what you are trying to find out and/or achieve. As an example: "y wont my car go qik" would be poor, "What are some modifications that I could perform within a budget of $xxxx, to gain some extra performance?" would be good.

I would also commend to you the FAQ and the various 'sticky' threads which appear in the different sections as a good guide as to what is accepted.

Oh yes, welcome too.

Welcome to the asylum woofy!

May I suggest you do a search on the forum topics and threads; that way you can learn more about whats on your mind at the time without having to post and wait for replies. Also, chances are someone else has asked the same questions you might have.

sweet as

so... what do you want to know about your car? have you got any mechanical problems with it, yet ?

If I was you, the first mod i'd do... would be mags and dump it, the old school mags, like the 12 slotters... would look nice with a dumped car , though elgt's and apache wheels would also look nice.

Wassup dog!
Glad you finally decided to make a post!

I was with Woofy on Friday when he bought his ZL with influence of course.
It sure is a nice ride, with most stuff rebuilt or replaced.
I will let Woofy tell you more though!

i can't picture the lever in your car in my head, but with my ED leaver... it would not lock in place, and everytime i got out it would go up... I changed the leaver and it fixed my problem.

It used to happen in my ED Fairmont all the time. I know exactly what you're talking about...I never got it fixed though.

yeah if you can change the level, change it... if it's the one i'm thinking of... and has plastic cover... take the cover off and there is a bolt undo it... sometimes the lever get stuck on, but a bit of force and it'll come off.. put on a new one.

Best to ask someone in the X-series forum.
They will have a better idea of what is going on.
Chances are it would be a common problem in them now they are getting on!

I like that model Fairlane Woofy, they look great. I see one in mint condition where I park at work and I wouldn't half mind having it even though I have an NA model. What side of town do you live? I'm south and my mechanic is a legend in terms of solutions/repairs/prices and honesty.
