Default A Zany idea....?

Didn't know where I should post this; But I have been reading up on O/S Ford's and got an idea. Would it be possible to source a half-cut of a V6 SHO Taurus( with the manual gearbox) from the US? Or what would be the cheapest way to go about importing the powertrain to fit to a local Taurus? I only ask because
-The afforementioned engine revs to 7800 rpm
- Plenty of scope for tuning or even a blower
-They can be made to handle decently
- Personally I think the idea of a black Taurus dropped on big chrome wheels, super dark tint, and a decent engine is just :sm_drool: :sm_drool: :sm_drool:
Would this be possible? Is there any cheap alternative? Before you flame me this thread is just a product of early morning brain storming; and I would probably sooner embark on a much cheaper EF Turbo project, but I think this would be cool. I look forward to your replies...

At least it would be pretty close to being unique here in Aus.

Can't help with the how but i lke the concept.

If you contacted some of the guys bringing in the stangs etc, they may be able to help with the transport logistics.

Maybe it would be cheaper putting a little Toyota blower on the standard Duratec, and trying to mate an MTX imported manual to it, using a MoTeC or something to tune it to suit the ratio's.
Can anyone think of a suitable Japanese front cut? pref. east-west, 6 cylinder; manual. eg. VG30 DETT ; Don't ask why I'm flogging the Taurus idea, i just saw potential in it when I read SHO reviews which gave me a shimmer of hope amongst the Taurus' awful reputation (and even though it looks weird, it still has that 'Fordness' about it and sticks out).

Yes it does seem a bit Zany, Personally I would just go buy a falcon as it would be a newer car and also cheaper than doing all this.

Camry/ maxima motor would be the only decent Jap east/ west v6's, they should come in fairly cheap too. (left field - subaru outback engine with the rear driveshaft diabled...???). Mounting it in a taurus would be a pain in the **** for not that much gain.

Or you could turbo/ s/c it. A smallish second hand turbo of a 200sx etc should be less than $400 from the jap importers. A bit of custom dodgy pipework and a microtech or some other low end computer should get it running. However this starts getting up in costs due to the custom tuning etc.
