lol, my dad is a qualified carpenter and in our previous house he always had a project on the go, we used a tempory shower set up outside from the laundary door for like 6 months while he did the barthroom up, it was made out of plywood and had ***** all lighting in there. why is this always the case with what ever kind of tradies always do good work nice and fast for customers but on there own homes every thing is always half finished?
so i know how you feel leojvs and i hope it turns out well Mike |

Bought a house in Melb cheap because it was 'original' (1930) and had no kitchen, an outside toilet and the crappiest bathroom circa 1960. We have done stumps, bathroom, kitchen, taken out a wall, installed double patio doors out to the backyard and still have a lot work to go.....I have a love/hate relationship with my house. Hate it when the walls are still moving and cracks open up, love it when a project is finished and it looks like it came out of a magazine....

I am taking a week off work to re-paint the interior of our house, trying to do it on weekends has seen 1 room done in about 3 months, too little time on weekends.
P.S. I love renovating, my wife is not so keen, but she always loves the end results.

It's the way to go to set you up later in life if you can get a house and fix it up then make a good dollar on it. You might be saving every penny for a few years and budgeting very strictly, but put it this way, a few years down the track you make a heap and buy that house you always wanted and have more $$ for your family instead of making do with the opne you had
Being a landscaper though, I'm too busy doing the outside to do anything inside! |

I just pulled up all my floor tiles and hired a concrete grinder to remove the glue, it is the worst job ever, the whole house is covered in dust, i looked like one of those people covered in ash that escaped 9-11, 8 hours grinding with smoke dectectors going off every 10 mins and 3 weeks to clean the mess i reckon.
Next time i need to move out and rent.... : |
