Default is my au2 xr8 a series 3 spec

hi all i have a late model series 2 xr8 with 220 motor i have noted that the body kit is the same as a series 3 xr6 does this mean my car is practically a series 3 spec, there must have been a au 2 and a half or something because my car has skirts where the first series 2's did not. maybe a running change due to intro of the 220 motor.

Is it a XR8 Rebel? I know they had the series 3 kit.

Got a photo of it? ould be handy to see which skirts etc you are talking about. There are 2 versions for the series 2/3, apart from the version with no skirts. There's the Ford racing kit, and the Rebel kit.

I brought mine new in the second last week in september before the order went in the up grade was made So i changed a few things s11 pre upgrade was a 200mtr. no body kit standard only optioned.after the upgrade 220 mtr was made avalible at a cost $1200 from memory. side skirts the same as the series 3 sr /f/mont were standard. the Xr side skirts ( they cover the base & lower bit of the gaurds) and rear bar skirt/ front pods were a option as was the Rebel / S3 race body kit on the S3s.. how ever the rebel body kit was being supplyed by some dealers on the S2 for $2000 extra..
the last of the S3s both sedans. and utes had a heap of body kits fitted by the dealers to off load them before the BA release . most of the dealer body kit had self tappers holding the front pods on, the factory fitted ones used large pop rivetts hopes this helps Cheers .Whoosha
P.S Ive had 6 AU XRs in the family Both new & secondhand so you can trust me :thebirds:

What is the build date ... surely someone on here knows the exactly dates for each series ... it should tell you on the compliance plate.

Series III kit wasnt available on Series II unless ofcourse the dealer put the Havoc option on it.

Which was a late Series II option.

Series II changed in APRIL / MAY 2001, got color coded mirrors, lost the stadard body kit, got Forte skirts, lost stacker and lost alloy spare. Gained the 220 motor.

Mine's a 06/01 build with the 220, what's the tickford placard on the drivers side under the bonnet say? It will tell you what options were ticked, like Momo wheel, body kit etc...
