250watt.

11 speaker elements.

2 tweeters in the a pillars.

5X7 splits in the front doors and rear parcel shelf (total 4), and one sub with amp.

There is a slight difference between series 1 & 2/3. The amp in all cases is a two channel, in the series one, one channel is for the sub the other for the rear speakers. In the series 2/3 one channel is for the sub & the other is unused.

250Watt is pretty impressive. How come the BA's only get 150watt :(

im sure the premo sound in BA's is 250 as well.

unless you are confusing it with "prestige" or standard...

I didn't know that about the AUII amp having two channels. What do you mean by unused? Is it there to tap into and employ for another sub or..?

There are unused terminals for a second channel, so i guess it could run another sub.....take off your trim panel & have a look

The front premium consist of 6 elements, tweeters in the A pillar, and coaxials (5x7) in the front doors. Really it is only 7 speakers in the premo setup. Coaxials are considered to be 1 speaker, Ford call them 2.

Sorry to mine an ancient thread, but I was seeking further clarification on the AU1 Premo system.

My understanding is:

250W total

4 5x7 Coaxial Speakers

2 a-pillar tweeters

1 Subwoofer

Boot mounted Amp powers sub & rear speakers

On top of that, does anyone know the total output of the Amp? I couldnt find any indication on the unit itself.

I fitted a premium system in my SER1 XR8 and just removed the rear speaker connections from the wiring loom and fitted the connections from the amp loom and all worked fine. I replaced all the speakers with the ones that came with the Premium system and also fitted the rear parcel tray that had the grill for the sub. So as far as I know, the rear speakers do come through the amp on the SER1's.
