Hey, i was just having a quick look through my service manual today and saw an odd entry that i did not pick up on when i bought the car.
In the service record, the 15000km/12 months service had taken place when the car was on 21253km and on the 23/8/06 after the complimentary service on the 6/5/05. This was precisely 6253km/3months17days overdue for that service. This is my first time dealing with a new car warranty so im unsure? Do i have a void warranty? Cos in the manual it specifies in the warranty facts that the vehicle is serviced regularly and promptly. If so, do i also have questions to ask of the dealer who sold me a voided new car warranty vehicle even though was told it was still under new car warranty?

Just pray to God that your engine doesn't play up, as knowing ford they will try to weasel out saying that the oil change wasn't done in time.

I would have no idea, I'm about a massive amount of km's away from my 15,000km service.

I just rang up the Ford hotline, and the guy told me generally that will not void the warranty, and if a fault occurs and can be attributed to the late service, then it may void a certain part of the warranty, but not entire warranty.
But most likely it is not void, but you never know they might pin that question on me if anything happens.. Not exactly happy with myself or dealer for not picking up on this before..

The 15,000km service gap is bull anyway, the oil and filter should be changed every 5,000 at least from maximum engine life...
had my 15,000k service last week, engine light came on again the other day o_0 Went off on its own and they didn't want to know me, couldn't help/explain why it comes on every now and then...

I had the same issue. The engine light would come on and off. It would stay on for a few days then turn off. It hasn't been on again in a while. The car drives exactly the same. |

Crispy. There is no need to change oil every 5,000km in a modern engine. Maybe in the 50's and 60's but unless your boucing off the limiter 24/7 the manufacter knows best.
If FORD knew that 15,000km servicing could damage the engine do you think they would give warranty with 15,000km? They certainly wouldn't. |

Im sorry but if you think modern engines need an oil change every 5,000km in normal use your plain out wrong. Stop living in the 60's. |

If you check your service guide you will note that they list a C service which are for cars operated under severe or unusual conditions. The C service is 7500kms or 6 months. If you mainly drive in the city then you would be wise to change the oil and filter every 6 months, your engine will love you for it. |

If ford recommend 7,500km for cars in adverse conditions I would change it every 7,500km. But no need for 5,000km intervals. |

My fiesta came with the normal three years new car warranty and a dealer two year extended warranty.
It's something they give you without you asking (depending on your dealership) But what most people dont know (according to my friend who is a salesman at Alfa romeo) they actually include charges and hide them into the price of the car. If you specifically ask for the car wihtout it, apparently car CAN in some cases cost you less

Ivan yep you need to pay extra for your extended warranty. You can still get it as long as your car is still within the warranty period so if your interested head down to the dealer you got it from and have a chat with them.
