Default Duratec same engine as ztec?

Can anyone confirm for whether or not our 1.6l duratec is the same as the 1.6l ztec in the uk just with a different badge.

I was looking at the 4-2-1 manifold and cam kit for my car.

cheers!

im guessing that you own a Fiesta...if so yes the 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold will Fit. and the Cam Kit also will Fit.

just to let you know., you shoule also get your car Dyno'd and Tuned when you get your cams done.

BTW you will loose basically all Warranty on your Engine once these are done.

and importing and installing these item WILL KILL you...they cost alot just to get from the UK. they will cost a fiar bit to get shipped over and also unless you can do it yourself they will cost alot to get done....you are looking at a couple of G's....maybee 3....not sure....

Personally Ask for a Quote including shipping to your door. then go down to a reputable engeener or mechanic that you should trust...and get them to do you a Quote.... dont forget as i said b4 a good Dyno Tune would go a long way.

yeah, i figured I would be looking at something like that.

I'm up in brissie, I got mercury motorsport to lower my fez. they said they would fit he cams for around 300 and suggested a hi flow cat to go with the mainfold $330 fitted, i already have a cat back system.

Finally after all that was done i would be looking at a chip. getting it dyno'd and all sorted.

will be getting a few othe quotes on the manifold fitting and hi flow cat.

it wont be for a few month till this is all done anyways, and i dont think i have too long on the new car warranty after that anyways.

Sean it isn't that easy.

There are many different "Zetec" engines that are put into different cars in the UK. There are no less than 4 different 1.6L "zetec" engines. All being slightly different. There is the original Zetec/Zetec-E, a Zetec-R, Zetec-Se(Which is what we have) and a SOHC Zetec-Rocam.

When buying parts make sure they are specifically for the Zetec-SE or for a 1.6L mk6 Fiesta. Otherwise you will get parts for a different engine.

Shipping from the UK will kill you. Would be more economical to get it build up locally.

you wont need to get a Chip. just simple get a Edit on the current Chip. alot easier and also ALOT cheaper!

make sure that you post up a Dyno Graph when you do. i was actually going to do the same thing...you got any pics of your car...

I was looking at getting the PumaSpeed hiflow sports cat and extractors....and getting a set of Locally made Cams, a set of really agressive one...a CAI, and a tune/Edit on my Ecu similar to....im looking at getting injector valves done, new heads, port and polish, fuel rail, fuel pump, intake and exhaust valves and high flow lift Springs....

im getting done shortly Eibach Lowering springs and a couple of other things lol.. to do with brakes and suspension....

good luck with your car.....

what would you expect to pay for a cam kit custom made over here? and then isnt there the same issue as with every other mod for the fiesta? never been done, could take ages and lotsa labour to get right? === super xpensive?

Guys sorry to say it.. but cams wont do sh1t for our little 1.6.

Unless you trash the electronic throttle and get a piggy back no mods will do anything.

As confirmed on the dyno. Pressure sensors they placed confirmed that at 6,000 rpm the ecu starts closing the throttle body.

No point modding the 1.6. unless your going to turbocharge it

No edit is available for our car.
You basically have to get a chip or a new computer.

Thats why im looking foward to polo GTI, if i ever get sick of 220nm and 110kw i can just take it to APR and get it flash tuned 152kw and 330nm ! :sm_headba

alot more than would be worth it.....a new computer would cost 2500+

exhaust and extractors + a Cold Air Intake would be your best bet!

and you have already got prices for those... with cams exaust and CAI would get you about maybee MAYBEE 120BHP..thats an increase of 20BHP?? is it guys!! im not sure but i thnk the fez has 100BHP.

Ahhhh thats one of those ''power'' graphs that car modification companies create to give people a false belief that modifications on a na car will give massive power gains.

Notice how it also says ''race system'' from what i understand, in the uk that means no cat converter and an exhaust so large your car sounds like it has a permanent diet consisting of baked beans.

Still notice how power dies after 6..... the car would be a mutt to drive.

buy a toybo

The fiesta is loads of fun. I loved mine to pieces.

But the engine. Just doesnt make power and no matter what you do to it. It wont make power.

All the talk about cams, big exhausts. You will end up spending 3-4 grand and you will still get hammered by an echo sportivo

You have such a negative look on life.....tell me ware are you getting YOUR info from.....this is the first i have heard anything (this thread) about performance mods not working.......

you are willing to accept Defeat lying down.....hence why you went for a polo......at least you KNOW that you can mod it......the fact being that people want to mod it is up to them...if they want to ..then who are you to tell them that they shouldnt cause you couldnt get any out of it yourself....if someone does it and is succesfull then thats a mile/stepping stone for the rest of us who where curious....

Ever read ukfiestanetwork?

Ask them if its a good idea to modify a Fiesta.

99% of them say no. 99% of them say the exhausts they pay so much for basically only offer sound, nothing much else.

On my car i had a cat back exhaust and an Apollo CAI.
It gained like 4 kw atw over standard. At a total cost of around 800 bucks.

How is that worth it?

As the guy at the dyno place said.... The computer is telling the throttle to close at certain RPM.

Most modifications offered for NA cars advertise ''top end'' power increase. Now whats the point when power stops dead at 6k in a fiesta.

Put simply. Not worth it.

Negative outlook on life? more like positive... i prefer not to waste my money. If you consider putting my money in the bank to be negative... then your the twisted one

no i never read UKfiesta Network.

Why would i ask someone if i should mod my car..if i want to do it i will.

i know an exhaust just gives you sound.....

not my fault you spent 800 and only got 4kw.....

if the dyno was saying that the ecu was restricking it at 6k then wouldnt a smart person get a chip and stop that, and maybee get a tune....

Not worth in the Eyes of you.....I see things differently and i want to have a try...

Money is something that you earn...why earn if your not going to spend it.....sure i like to have money in my bank...but i also like to spend it on things that i want to do and on my interests.
