Mick, could you get GTgeoff to post some proper photos of the car from all angles, including engine bay and interior. This would help in identifying parts etc. The only picture available from the other forum is the avatar shot.

Cheers,

I would assume being a member of the Falcon GT Club of NSW, he would be from NSW?

ok, Geoff has given me more info.

Car was in the Sutherland Shire, NSW, Kareela to be exact. His email is geoffwday@bigpond.com. His contact number is 0408 443 257, however, if you know of anything suss... best to contact the local blue boys aswell.

8/72, D block, manual, 4v heads, black trim, poverty pak - no options.
one owner before Geoff.

some photos are here, not sure if all can view, but i'm flat out at work and have to fly off to singapore tomorrow... so maybe geoff will put up picks here for all.

Damn, sorry to hear.

Although I can tell you the car will be stripped. It's unfortunately true.
If the block is a 4 bolt, it will have numbers ground off then put into a race car. The rest will be stripped and sold. The body may have the numbers drilled out.

I wish you and Geoff luck. Even with that reward. This is the dopwnside to owning such a vehicle. The owner though has to take the neccessary cations to prevent (or slow down) it's theft.

Mick
yeah, im not a member there and the pics came up fine, so should be ok for everyone to view..

thats a damn shame but unfortunatley LTDHO is pretty well on the money with what he's said..

i had a read over on the forum that geoff is from, and it sounds pretty well like its been done by a professional, letting his other cars tyres down and all... sounds like theyve been casing it out for a little while..

It was stolen from the Sutherland Shire in Sydney.

Not hard to miss in that colour....

picked it up late Dec 06 and stolen by the 2nd Jan 07? I'd be looking at the bloke who he bought it from and his mates. Why? The new owners address etc is on the transfer papers which the previous owner has I assume.

brenx, could be any number of reasons, but one i noticed was that a few photos circulating had his house in the background (part of it) which could have been a guide to some idiots.

Geoff is well known throughout the GT community, and so are all his cars.
This discusting low act was done by a professional, no doubt about it.
My guess is they were after more than just that one.

All anyone can do is keep our eyes and ears open and look for any signs of it as being parted out.
It could end up on its way overseas, but they usually want coupes. It may also disappear of the radar alltogether like that Red Pepper coupe nearly 2 years ago.

Hopefully it will be recovered.

Disgusting.... as Geoff alluded to on the site it has all the hallmarks of an act of either revenge or a pre planned thieft as the scumbags obviously knew him and his property pretty well..... Opportunistic thiefts of these kinds of cars are VERY rare because most of the stuff cant be sold or used, id say there's allot more to this than just a random act.

They better find it soon because it will either go overseas or be stripped. Hope he has insurance with Shannons or similar so he has access to a private investigator. Hope the bastards that stole it rot in hell. You can't own a nice car these days without some bastard doing something to it. :SaiyanSmi

That sucks!! Car thieves should be strung up, like horse thieves in the old west!

I remember when my XA GT Sedan went missing 21 years ago, 5th June 1986 to be exact!! I still get angry when I think about it.

Condorec, I feel your mates pain!! I hope he gets it back undamaged.

Did you get it back? If not post the vin number, you never know it might still exist! There's a GT register that people track this info on...

its not fair. its such a nice looking car. i really hope its not stripped. i hate seeing rare cars stripped and sold to people. if anyone gets offered parts do some investigation on that person. its not fair that people can work hard for somthing and have it taken away from them. i live in the bankstown/easthills region so ill keep an eye out. i hope its found in one piece mate. good luck

Never got it back. Still have VIN number recorded, rego papers and even the police report although the carbon paper copy is pretty much unreadable!! I'd hate to think some poor bloke is driving that chassis around somewhere, beaming with pride and spent a mozza on the purchase totally unaware of what went down. Could open up a horrible can of worms!!

Hope these people lose their legs and have their fingers cut off. Not only can they never steal, but also can never have the pleasure of driving a car.

Some people need to be made an example of.
