Thanks for the inquiry. Can l just confirm you are looking for a new billet cam, not a regrind? We don't keep new cams on the shelf so we would have to "make one up" for you. The cost of a billet cam to Fordmods members is $396.00. We have a couple of billets in stock at the moment. There was a period last year when we couldn't get any for months. Cheers Chris WADE CAMS" |

Sounds nice...ill be looking at getting an exhaust like urs too...
Was it hard to install...did you do it yourself...would it be better to ditch a XR6 cam for a 1636 wade regrind..would i see a big difference for the price?

yeh probly cos its brand new, once it has some more carbon buildup it should get lower, the idle is so sweet just burbles along like a v8 (not a very worked v8 tho :P)

the cam went in today, its running nice and choppy, but should be better once the ecu learns, stalled a few times while parking at chadstone and once at a set of lights other than that no issues, so it went nice and cleanly.
just needa get a few hours under it before i boot it much so i dont damage anything. cant wait :P |

Have you reset the base idle? Mine was stalling when I'd slow down for a set of traffic lights just after I put my cam in. I would put the clutch in, then the ISC didn't know when to grab the rpm's and slow it down to a desired speed.
After reseting the base idle, it never stalls...

i ended up getting a regrind btw :P
yeh if its not sorted in the next few days then maybe ill do that, it idles ok i spose once its warmed up, took me a good 10mins to get it going just before sitting in shade so it was real cold, couldnt hold it in D at all so had to start it in p and rev at 1k for a bit to keep it going enough to warm up and work in d while i accel then stalled 200m up the road but then it warmed up more and about 10 stops at lights and no stalls. still yet to go over 2500rpm lol im scared to :P |

Mines never stalled or attempted to stall since ive had my wade installed, did you notice the exhaust note change after you got the cam as well?!? Cheers Paul Haha whats next on your mod list?? |

:P yeh
its crazy almost stalled today in shoppingtown the batt light was flickering on cos it was idling at like 200rpm lol! yeh if i just roll up to lights and brake it wont stall but if im sitting there give it some throttle to move forward back off and brake then it will stall once i stop, its had about 3 hours use today so i decided to give it a little up my road, exhaust starts hauling after around 2800 and then at about 3800 or so u can reallly notice the cam as it feels like its hitting another power band. when sitting still and revving it theres a fair bit of black smoke hopefully caused only cos the ecu is still learning. next mod on the list is a 3.45 lsd, then either a manual or a high stall, i do like auto for day to day driving, but a manual is a bit quicker so i still havent decided yet. then dba slotted rotors, braided lines, and greenstuffs. then its gonna sit like that till im 21 then ill see what cash ive got to work with towards possiblly an el xr8 with the AU engine and supercharger :P |
