going to look at an rs2000 on the weekend.
it's a 1980 2 door model. i've compared it with pics of other rs2000's and noticed some differences i wanted to query. it doesn't have chrome gutters which i've read did exist on rs2000's--it's gutters are black. other rs2000's i've seen have a faded looking fairly wide strip the length of the car, close to the sills. this one has pin stripping the length of the car, higher up. finally, did they all come with quarter vent front door windows? |

There were both 4 door and 2 door RS2000's released in Australia. The model number you need to be looking for on the compliance plates of a 2 door RS2000 is 11918. The RS2000 pics you have seen with the wide stripe close to the sill may be Euro spec RS2000's. In Australia, RS2000's had a series of thin pinstripes just below the lower door crease line (in line with the front and rear bumper wrap arouns sections) To answer your last question groulder, No they did not have openable front quarter windows. |

I have to agree with sean there and the 2 dr was/is the most popular to date.
Chassis no:ck41#########R 2dr RS. and :CK42########R 4dr,from memory the engine number is the same as well. and model code of:11938 5/79 on to 80/81 .make sure it has the original scheels front seats in it,RS dash,3 spoke wheel, short throw shifter, windscreen rubbers should be black no thave a chrome locking strip, door handles black, around the door pillas should be blacked out as well so long as it hasnt been resprayed. |
