Hey, wondering if anyone can help out. We've been told that there's heaps of well paid jobs in NT. We are thinking about moving for a couple of years, make some money, come back. Butttt.. there are some important things I need to know. Is there any work for truckies (hubby) I'm fine, a teacher, rang the NT department about teaching jobs, they practically offered to come and help me pack. Secondly waht's the speedway situation I aint going nowwhere without my rumbling 351 Ea. Thirdly, is it worth carting 5 kids over there??? In other words is it worth carting all my stuff? All suggestions and info greatly appreciated

Wow, lots of questions. The NT is a huge place. So if you have any particular region in mind, that would be helpfull. It sounds like darwin might be the place to go to. Ask the NT education people if they would help you out with the expence of staying a few days up here so you can get a feel for your self. My wife is a special needs teacher here in the Alice. And the stories of big incomes are true, BUT, it does cost a bit more to live here. Everything that you buy has a higher than usual shipping cost attached, but the higher wages do make up for it. Dont let yourself be talked into a teaching job out on one of the communities. These are dangerous places. Keep away.
Truckie jobs would be easy to get as the Alice is a transport hub, that is if you are looking at the Alice.......... I am happy to help if you want any more info. Cheers, OBJ.

Sants teresa is fairly close to Alice. Do you teach high school or primary school. There is a very good private college here called St Phillips. They would be worth a try if you are a high school teacher.
Cheers.
