Default Door Protectors

Hey Guys,

I have a AU Series 1 Forte, and today I decided to take off the ugly Door protectors that go down the sides of the doors on both sides.

Now I have bogged all the holes however the sticky tape/foam the was holding them on for extra support isnt coming off to easy...
ive tried using a heat gun, scraping, acetone... nothing seems to work..

Any suggestions??

Prepsol will take the double sided tape and residue off but you'll need to let it soften up a bit first, if you want to get it off a bit faster paint thinners will do the trick, failing that if you go to an automotive paint supplier you can get an attachment for a drill which has a wheel with rubber strips on it that will rip it off quickly but can also damage the paint surface. Acetone isn't aggresssive enough and evaporates to quickly to do the job.

Wax & grease remover + elbow grease always does the trick for me when it comes to the tape and residue.
