about mid 15's to low 16's if a little tired, a stock El xr8 will never run 14's. |

Stock as rock, I would estimate that it would run any where from a mid 15 to a low 16 depending on the transmission and condition of the car. An EL XR6 manual is probably just as fast, dare I say.

Mid to low 15s depending on condition, k's and how well you can drive. A series 2 EL XR8 could probably do a very low 15 maybe high 14.
When my Ghia was 100% stock it did a 15.8 so if a manual EL with the same engine and less weight can't run better than 15.5 I'd be worried.

When they were new the good EL's were around the 15.0 flat with the 185kw engine. I remeber, I used to have an XR6, a good one of those did a 15.2. It was the first time an XR8 was quicker than the XR6. When the AU came out the XR8 popped into the 14.8 or 14.9 bracket, with the same 185kw engine. With a better set of headers, straight through exhaust and a tune, a 14.5 would be on the cards!

Mid 15s would be my guess for a good condition 185kw version. High 15s for a 170kw series 1.

Stop guessing guys. By the way, the live axle hooks up better than the irs of the au, and it was also a fair bit ligther, so they were quicker given that the first au had exactly the same engine-trans combo. |

I had an el2 185kw auto from new and the best pass it ever did was a 15.5 and that was with a cat back system which probably made very little difference. Great car though, one of my favorites.
