Default i6 valve srings ????

i want to put the cam back in my i6 now and i'm a bit unsure of how the stock valve springs will handle it.
i measured up the cam and it has 480 thou lift at the valve ,both intake and exhaust.according to my hanes manual an xr6 hp should have around 478 thou lift at the valve on the intake side and 455 on the exhaust a standard au cam roughly 444 intake and 475 ex.
so i'm thinking the valve springs will handle the lift alright.my question is how much effect dose the duration of a cam have on the valve springs?
i have no way of trying to measure the duration on this cam.but to look at side by side with a standard cam ,you can see by the lobes it has a lot more duration than a standard au cam.

its a wreckers donk thats done 66k
i was more interested in how much duration on the cam effects the load on the valve springs .
i'm confident the springs will handle the lift ,but duration?

You've got the right idea. Its not about the duration so much as the max rate at which the lobe accelerates and then decelerates the valve (and the rest of the valvetrain...rocker etc...)

Given the head is otherwise std, best bet would be to take the recommendation of the cam grinder.

Too little valve spring pressure is a very bad thing.

What cam do you want to put in? its non standard cam right?
If so be carefull and maybe crank the engine over by hand before you start it, to check for clearences.

The standard valve springs will take 510 lift leaving 40 thou clearance to coil bind. However they seem to run 520 thou lift on many cars and I have heard no problems
