I would say anything by Mazda, Ford or Toyota would be the pick for resale, reliability and power is concerned.

You may want to edit your signature,ThoR. Bathrust is probably something that happens to old bath tubs. The last time I checked, Lowndes won a race at a place called Bathurst.
Hugs and kisses

I work for a Nissan / Hyundai dealer and i reckon the all new (new shape) 2006 Hyundai Elantra is not to shabby for its price tag, we got one last week and its actually a very well apointed small car it has alot better build quality than last years model and looks heaps nicer to boot. The only other smaller car i really like at the moment is the new Dodge Caliber but i think it comes in just outside the price range?

Focus, 3, Astra, Lancer and Corolla although you'd be struggling to get even the mid spec model on the road for under 25grand driveaway.
If you can squeeze into a smaller car you'd get a higher spec level. look at Fiesta, 2, Swift, Jazz or Yaris. Also check out the Getz. |

I'm actually very interested in quality feedback on this topic at the moment. I am looking to get a car for the missus this week. We've been to look at a Tiida, Colt and Corolla with more to go.
Can anyone comment on reliability, performance etc on these cars based on 1st hand experience? I must admit the car that impressed us the most was the Colt with the CVT auto.. |

You can now get a brand new hatch or sedan CL Focus manual for $20990 drive-away. That is pretty good considering the RRP on them is $20990 plus onroads and dealer delivery. I guess it depends on which state you are in but here in WA dealer delivery is $1200-1500, rego is $300 for 6 months and transfer is around $1200 so there is around $3000 of on-roads that you do not have to pay for.
