Angry I've damaged both of my rims....

Well i've damaged 2 of my rims in the city today...I wasn't doing anything stupid! I was going around a curve not a corner and i've cliped the gutter and it's taking a gash out of the front rim and the rear rim! Not happy at all...

The car seems to be driving fine no shaking at 100km + and is driving in a straight line!

So i just want to get them fixed so it looks better!

Does anybdy know where i can get them fixed?

Cheers

Simon

The only place I know of is in Queanbeyan NSW, but there must be somewhere closer to you. I suggest searching yellow pages for wheel repair and see what you get. It won't be cheap though (around $100 to $150 per rim), and if they're shadow chrome, you will have to get all 4 painted as they won't be able to match the original colour exactly.

Sorry to hear this Simon. I quite like those rims. Last year, I met a guy who works at Autobarn and he said they do rim repairs (I was going to have mine repaired after scraping a drive-thru gutter grrrrrrr) I'm not sure where they send them off to get done but it might be worth popping into one of the stores near your place and finding out if they still do this.

^^Second that,I've used them at work many a time, they do a very good job.The only thing you need to watch with them is the colour match.

Simon are they chrome? If so then you pretty much have to buy 2 new rims. I scraped one of my slightly at work (stupid woolworths carpark..) and they said i'd have to get a new rim because its chrome. $400.. :'(

nah, they arnt chrome.

best part about having crappy 16's is that i dont have to worry about gutter rash, as they were already all rooted when i bought the car, plus, with the wider profile tyres on them, the rim gets no where near the gutter anyway :P

Thanks everyone for ur reply!

I think im going to have to get 2 new rims as to colour match shadow chrome is a pain in the *** i've been told and it's going to cost so much more nearly double the price..... : : : :

So i think i'll be saving up for 2 new rims...

Cheers

depending on how deep the scrapes are , sometimes its possible to get the lip of the rim re-machined a bit thinner / providing once machined there is still enough metal for the tyre wall to hold on. Cheaper than getting the scrapes filled/welded then re-machined , you could get it done to the other 2 rims so it matches all around too , just a suggestion if your gonna be hard up for $$ for a while . cheers.

I agree, although I'd add that tyres are a bit cheaper also! Good for those on a tighter budget.

Tickford S1 17's on both would be nice though! LOL!
