Hi,
I have bought a 1994 Telstar AX back in Apirl this year. Recently, the weather being warmer, I have noticed that when I switch on the airconditioning to "3" the enginge rpm goes crazy! It will keep going up and down even when I am driving now to mention when the car is idle. When the AC is at "2" the rpm is more stable, but I can still feel the inconsistent rpm. If the weather is cooler then everything seems to be ok! Any idea what should I do to fix it? Many Thanks! |

this is just a guess
there may be an adjustment using either a vacuume diaphrame /threaded adjustment or electronic control valve (see what you have )

i agree...
on the throttle body, a efi car has an idle speed controller.... when there is load applied to the engine(ie your air con compressor kicking in) the ISC bumps up the idle to keep it from stalling... what you've described sounds a bit excessive however - i'd get it checked out |

Thanks for the reply guys,
I went to see the Auto-Electrican who refilled the gas about 4 months ago or so. I mentioned about idle speed motor but he didn't mention anything. He suggested that maybe the gas pressure is too high, causing the air-conditioning to keeps turning on and off. I suppose this could be true because the air-conditioning wasn't cold at all when this happens. Is this possible? Many Thanks. |

general info on how one works the throttle body is getting a faulty signal on how much to increase the revs to when you put the fan on high the TX valve regulates the cabin temp and aircon pump usage line pressure a different issue
