I'm thinking of buying an AV transmitter/receiver setup so I can watch Foxtel (which is in the loungeroom) on the TV in the kitchen.
Does anyone have any experience with these units and possibly give some advice (brand, features etc)? I particularly want one that has a remote extender so I won't have to go back in the lounge every time I want to change channels. Cheers |

Most AV senders have remote extender capability.
I advise to NOT buy one that uses 2.4Ghz; IF you use, or intend using say a wireless modem router OR 2.4Ghz cordless phone. Here, you purchase 5.8Ghz units to avoid interference. Despite channel change capabilities on some devices, 'wireless super G' items in particular are vulnerable to interference. |

Yeah, I'd read something about the 2.4ghz range and having multiple things on that frequency. Trouble is, our cordless phone is 5.4ghz - how much interference should there be?

yeah i use a "gigaair" brand . 2.4 Ghz works well - if i use the microwave it interferes ! not a prob for me as i only use the AV sender to watch fox in the bedroom at nighttime . You might need to muck around a bit to get it working right for you , just experiment with the aerials and remote location .
