Word censor...Auto or manual?

First of all would like to make it clear that I'm all for "no foul language"
on the forums!! Tolerences can vary from the fickle to the obscene.

My querie is wether the forum has an inbuilt swear detector that puts
asterixes in instead of the word when the thread is posted? or, does a
Moderator have to "Spell check"?

I like the first option as it can be somewhat healing to type in one's feelings,
and no one has to do any work.

However I do realise that this sort of mechanism may not detect personal
attacks, and some one is needed to moderate the thread.

It's a bit like screaming in the shower....everyone knows you're ****ed off,
but can't quite make it all out!

It is an automated filter that we can add selected words to and is a different process from the general moderation of threads and their content.
