As some of you already know i've recently purchased Dan's old turbo gear to put on the ED. (i'm terrible a keeping secrets :P) I have pretty much everything to make it happen minus a fuel pump. But in the last couple of days of been thinking about whether or not i should turbo the ED or whether i should sell the kit and "invest" it in the EA.
Which comes to my dilemma, should i have two mildly boosted e-series, or should i pump the money into the EA in search of my 300rwkw goal???

300rwkw will mean:
- Very strong auto, or T56 from mal wood - Completely rebuilt I6 - Vortech running > 15psi - Diff - Alot more work and money, which has nothing to do with your ****y little turbo kit :P Keep the turbo kit, make the ED a nice daily @ say, 170rwkw. That's a nice and safe power level for your BTR. Then, spend the extra $20 - $25k to make your car up around 300rwkw safely.

yep, i'm with yagz, give the daily a bit of boost, enough to make the car enjoyable to drive without it being too much for standard parts.
i don't think the money you've put into that turbo kit will go far when it comes to getting the EA to 300rwkw. but it'll make a big difference to the enjoyability of the ol' ED.

As for that list Sale of turbo and blower would fund bigger blower Engine i'm not too worried about, she should hold 300rwkw + replacement engine's are cheap Tranny i will keep till she blows, then look into my options My diff is strong enough

standard gearbox's and diffs seem to cope with superchargers pretty well.
i've spoken to a couple of people with vortech'd 6's running T5's without having changed them yet. i figure the daily's gunna be driven a fair bit, make it fun to drive

I agree if the turbo kit was cheap then just whack it on the daily hack and a run a low boost setup that wont kill your driveline or require aftermarket ECU etc.
But then the other car wont feel as special when you drive it, if you already hopped out of a car with 180rwkw. But imagine the difference between going from 100rwkw to 200rwkw+ then you will appreciate it more. |

Nope sorry i recon you should sell it to me;) Well with two toy's there's allway's thing's that are going to go wrong. Yer with mild boost the ED should stand up to it with out any prob's but we all now how unexpected thing's pop up when it come's to car's and wasting money on them:P. It would be a dilemma if your daily has a problem then that's off the road. And im sure you wont be using the EA if the ED dies for everyday chores. As yagz said once you mod somthing(more power) thing's tend to go bang:S e.g diff, tran's blah, blah, blah,. But it dosent matter if the EA goes Bang as you dont rely on it.It can sit in the shed for how ever long it take's for the problem to be fixed.ED is a basher leave it that way. But hay it's your car steve and if you think you cant put up with a slug till the weekend's then boost it. That's my 2c |

Low boost setup on the ED - 4-5lb, keep the fuel up to it.
Go bannana's on the EA.

If you put the turbo on the ED, it won't be a daily anymore IMO your just making life hard for your self lol.
GO nuts on the EA I reckon.

Dont turbo the ED.
Way too many headaches for a daily. Make the EA more impressive with some grunt. After the time and effort you put into making it look pretty 180rwkw lets it down a bit IMO.

It wont work well unless the turbo is a lot bigger than what he had.
If turbo tony's turbo was the same as my one then maybe it is good for 300 on more boost?

No way should you have two boosted cars, its not fair..lol
Seriously though, I see no point in turboing the ED. The EA is unqiue and alreadyhas had time and cash spent on it, you will mod the ED and then were will it stop? It will be another enjoyable money pit. I would put the ED on gas and drive it during the week, take it to the supermarket and not worry about dints etc etc. Then have teh EA for the weekend/cruises/meets.

if you do, get the EA running for a few months before you go and upgrade stuff on it.

sell the daily and use the EA as the daily isn't an option ? come on it's on gas and built to be enjoyed, why not do it on a daily basis. And yes I am being serious. It's not an XY GT or anything, just a really nice EA.

... Well I guess I just don't get why you did up an EA only to store it in the garage 6 days a week, and the same goes for sundeep. I guesss the fact it looks awesome, out weighs driving it etc.
