Can anyone tell me of a good place to get my AUII front end aligned in Sydney South. I have heard that it needs to be done by someone who realy knows the AU front end to have it done properly.

This may not be Sydney south, but City Suspensions in Penrith do an outstanding job for front end alignments.

I've had mine done 4 times and it's still not right. After the bigger rims/tyres went on it went all crazy and no-one's been able to get it right since. Hope you find someone that can do it proper for you.
On that note, if anyone can recommend someone in Melbourne for me?

Hope that your Easter was very good. I had one done about 3 weeks ago when I fitted 4 new tyres. It was done at BOB Jane Broadmeadows. It's been a great job. 4 new tyres fitted and balanced and the front end done for $120. Not bad I reckon! By the way, when you say it all went crazy, what exactly do you mean? Blessings, George |

Happy Easter mate! The problem with mine is the front left. Pulls badly. When I hit the brakes (whether I'm braking hard of soft doesn't matter) it pulls bad to that side and also while cruising, you let it go and it steers itself to the left. I've had it done at Bob Jane Werribee twice (which is where I had the new rims & tyres fitted) then at somewhere else, I forget the name of the place, then at JMM but it's still mis-behaving. It was "perfect" before I changed wheels. Everytime I brake, the steering wheel goes nuts to the left. I'm use to it now though lol but still, I should try again and get it sorted because I don't wanna chew my tyre up. I'll try BJ in Broadmeadows then. See how it goes.

Hi Krissy, Sounds like you've got your handsfull! What did the guys who did it say when you took it back to them? Did you have the wheels changed at Bob Jane? If you did, then it's their responsibility to get it sorted! Anyway, ring Bob Jane Broadmeadows on 93024444 and talk to Dominic. He's the manager and seems a decent bloke to me. He may not be able to shed light on your prob though because being a Bob Jane like Werribee, they'll be using the same alignment system. It's worth a try though! What do you reckon? George |

George, I rarely make a fuss about anything. But why take it back to the same place? If they couldn't do it right the 1st time what's to say they'll do it right the 2nd? Or in BJ's case, 3rd time?! No - I move on lol. I'll go to BJ in Broady and ask for Dom and see if they can get it right.

Fair enough Krissy, At least you've got your next move planned! It may help to tell Dominic the lack of success you've had with the Werribee store though, it may give his staff the motivation they need to get it right for you and perhaps secure your business for next time! Let me know how you go. George |

It sounds like I'm not the only one needing a good alignment, hopefully there are some good ones in my area. I could go to Bob Jane or some other chain of tyre mobs but the knowledge between outlets varies & I find you get different conflicting opinions from one place to another.

I do my own alignments.
Most aligners don't know what the hell they are doing. BTW, AU's are very easy to do. Rick.

It's so obvious that there is so much suspicion of automotive service providers and with good reason. It's hard to find someone who'll do their utmost to get it right every time and not rip you off for it.

AU's are easy to do? That's not what I hear. You must have a special 'alignment' secret that you're keeping from everyone lol :P

Jax Tyres at Liverpool have never given me any grief when I go there. Maybe try them ?

AU's like every other car have the 3 major adjustments, castor, camber, and toe. Toe and camber are easy to get right, though castor is a little tricker with out any way of measuring. Plenty of test drives are needed. Both camber and castor are changed with the use of shims, and toe is adjusted with the tie rod ends. Certainly not rocket science, however it helps if you know the basic principles of wheel aligning. Rick.
