Default Hope no one wants a new Ranger

With the new model Courier the "Ranger" there will be a huge price rise

the pricing i have seen there will be around a $8000 price rise

this is a good way to scare off customers

considering air is an extra 2G on top

As much as its going to be a better car its not going to be that much better

Didn't Toyota do the same with the new 4x4 Hilux?
I know they're bloody expensive these days.

Cheers

How do you figure it will scare people off? People pay $50 000 for a Toyota Hilux and $45 000 for a Nissan Navara. Ford now have a car that will compete with the Hilux and Narvara so why wouldn't they charge accordingly? Or would you prefer the old Courier!!!

The Ford Courier nameplate, and now the Ford Ranger name do not stack up to the Hilux and Navara. In the high end segment of 4x4 utes, the name and reputation help sell.

Don't take this as me bagging the product, because I am not. The people who buy these are parochial and also at time ignorant.

One other point is that from my understanding, the Ranger is now built in Thailand? If so it should save Ford money because of the Free Trade Agreement (ala Honda Accord). Correct me if I am wrong on this.

$45000 for a duel cab 4*4 XLT isn’t bad, the diesel engine is better than what Toyota and Nissan are offering in there Duel cab utes and I reckon the thing looks a lot better than the Hi-lux and Navara anyway, the new Hi-lux look’s like it ran into the Ugly tree on the way from factory.

The + being with the ranger, is that as it’s sold in the US there is already a host of aftermarket gear for em.

I would look at a Ranger before I looked at a Hi-lux.

Cheers.

I would consider an Auto XLT 4x4 to quite good value in the face of the opposition... you cant get an Auto in the Diesel in a number of other 4x4 Dual cabs... Hilux you can, but thats another $5k on top...

I'm afraid it's just a major rehash of the existing Courier.

The current Courier is the biggest POS I have ever had the displeasure of driving. I really do hope this is a huge improvement.
