In the EL, Im using an EA box/shifter etc. From looking at a few interior pics, the factory ef/el's shifter seems to sit in a different position. Is this true, and if so, is the el shifter handle (just the part that bolts to the box) able to be purchased seperatly? I like the way the shifters seem to sit, a bit closer to the driver, as mine seems to be sitting a little too far away sometimes.

I nearly bought an EF/EL gearstick for my car but ended up getting an EL auto instead, but from what we could tell the stick is a different shape and bolts right on, and it cost something half reasonable like $50 or so? I never took it any further.

Sweet. I assume that price was from fraud yeah? From what ive seen in picks, it seems to place the shifter knob closser to the driver, meaning less reach is needed....

Yep, though another option I was going to consider was a shortened EF gearstick, I can't even remember who makes them. But yeah, all reasonable buying.

to answer the original question, the el shifter is called the 'kickback lever' simply because it has 2 bends and does exactly what you have noticed sits closer to the driver.

Keep us posted, I'm curious.
Also, for interest's sake I think the EF gearknob may be the same as the KJ Laser. |
