Hey Kids, get in the car, we are going to the shops!
What will they be getting into you ask? A 1976 Buick Electra Limited. 455Ci Big Block Buick, 3 speed T400, pillarless, 6 seater, 2.45 t full of fuel, 5.9 meter long, Daewoo eating sonofabi*ch! :thebirds: Oh yeah!! The wife saw it, and said "we are gettin that!" We just put a holding deposit on it, and are going to sell my Commmodore Ute (VS V6 5speed 230k $8500) to make room for it at our place. 4 cars aint an option. 6 months ago, we had picked out a Chrysler PT Cruiser, colour and everything. What happened? Well at least the kids will be safe. Hang on, we dont have any kids.... Ive been had by my wife.......

My dad drives a 75 225 Electra as a daily car but its on gas he's had the car from when it was only 3 years old.Still the same mtr, tranny & diff & will go on for many more years. I have a 73 Regal pic below that sits in the shed most of the time. I find them to use as a daily driver too BIG for shopping centre car parks but good highway cruises. There alright as hobby cars but I prefer the newer cars to drive. Engine parts are avaliable from a lot of importers but for most panels & interior bits you would have to try dismanterlers in the states like this bussiness.

Whaddya mean overkill? I reckon that thing'll eat 4 Daewoo's, 7 Hynudai's, 3 Peugeot's and a Kia in just a trip to the corner store.

too big, shit yeah, too cool, no way..
i'd do it, but yes parking aint gonna be too easy,but i guess you'll find a way,there's always a parking spot thats a little bigger than the last one you didnt think you'd fit into. especially go for it if you have another car you can take out if this thig is just gonna be too hard (shopping centres around christmas being a good example). is it on gas, id be planning that too,other than that i appreciate people using classics as every day cars EDIT, just re read you have 3 other cars so spare car not a problem |

The nicest thing about these cars is they are pillarless, and the hubcaps and whitewall tyres.

The 76 is last of the real big Buicks & most of the large land yachts of the American car makers. So in the future they could be collectable as the last of the yank tanks. I've been over to the states a few times & the only place I seem to see these cars over there are at swap meets like Pomona.

I love those great big American cars. They are a reminder of better days. Be careful though, you will have Harold Scruby chasing after you with a big stick. Enjoy your new wheels.
