Default New Top Doorslammer Record

Hey for those of you who are pretty keen on your Group 1 Drag Racing, and haven't heard the news. Zapp has created a new Top Doorslammer Record, 5.922 @ 235.600 at the Golden State Titles at Perth's Kwinana Motorplex. Awesome news for TD fans

Damn thats fast. At the winternationsls someone had 5 grand up for grabs to the person who runs a 5. No one got it, now it seems like its very obtainable. I think Zapps done it few times hasnt he?

Thats the 5th 5 sec run he has done also when u consider it brokethe tailshaft just before the finish line probably would have been a 5.8? sec pass.

I saw both 5 second runs on Friday nite and was blown away, the first run against Victor he was maybe three car lenghts in front by half track and the crowd just rose to there feet cheering, then when he came out at the end and did the 5.92 I dont think there was one person that went home not being a John Zappia FAN. The whole nite was one of the best events Ive personally been too.

I havent followed slammers for a while. They must be launching and powering to 1/2 track quicker than before. 6.1's @ 240mph had been run before, but to cut 5.9's @ 235ish they must be getting out of the hole hard.

difference is 3.8 half track times= 5's

doorslammers have to run under 4 sec half track to run a five, and the reason while john's mph was down was a damaged tail shaft on that run. its normaly up around 245 ish

video of the 5.92 run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhhyIAYb5Os
