I know there is a way of getting the heat in the cabin without enabling the a/c unit. can some one help me out please? 1990 NA Fairlane 6cyl |

yes
set the climate to what you want press the econ button this disengages the ac part of the climate control |

does it disengage it completely?
because in summer i can run the cool air with econ on as well? |

In summer, where does this cool air come from if the AC isn't on?

Like i said , in summer i get cool air when the 'econ' is pressed as well...The manual only says the compressor kicks in when 'cool' air is needed, it also says
press economy to MARGINALLY IMPROVE fuel economy. I have done the master reset on the panel as well. I run it with the econ on and i can HEAR the compressor running all the time, ..hissing noise. I want HEAT without any aircon enabled at all! Why should this be so difficult! does any one else have any difinitive info on this for the NA Fairlane? I might be wrong and you can call me an idiot , but i am NOT convinced the Air con isnt running in Economy mode with temp set on 32 Why on other models does it say to turn on 'FRESH' as well and other commands i have forgotton for now. |
