yes, i requires a bit more rewiring than that tho, you also need to put a resistor in the loom for the thermo fans otherwise they will run all the time, there's a few people on here that have done the conversion, they can tell you exactly what needs to be done

I would like to get a manual but I heard they don't handle the power all to well. I know mal wood does the conversion but the strong boxes cost you more then the car is worth. Unfortunately I need to stick to the auto :( high stall should help it a bit though

Duffman if you're planning on turboing it, you'll probably need to beef up the auto anyhow if you want it to handle real power. I know caspers needed to be beefed up to run 14.77.

Looks like someone can't drive a manual...........Mr Hardware!!!
Besides your comment is irrelevent to this topic.

Only reason I have 2 Auto's is the company requires it and the Wife can't drive one.
I'm so desparate that I use the sports mode transmission in my company Fairmont all the time.
If I ever get a novated car it's manual all the way.

not sure about the resistor, but yes you need to short circuit the neutral switch so you can start it

Well, my sig says 1980 5-speed corolla. That's 5-speed manual. I had that for 2 and a half years and did over 30,000klms in it. Thats not counting the thousands of kilometres i've done as a courier with a manual triton. I think i can drive a manual just fine.

Don't get me wrong, i think manuals have a place. In trucks only.

They aren't that good. I think autos are fine (if you're disabled)..

That's not nice Glen! lol! My memories of a manual remind me of terrible clutch shudder, broken pedal box welds, broken clutch cables and noisy thrust bearings! Give me an auto with high stall anyday! But I still have a little fun with my manual Toyota Hiace!
