Default Help Please

hey there just picked up a old 4wd and trying to find out what it is running. i am pretty sure it is ford(falcon) motor pre cross flow but can`t find any pics i have a engine number which is AEC9DE6049B not 100% on the D any help would be great thanks ppl

no pics sorry but has a blue rocker cover with power something written on it and an slid on oil breather right at the front all manifolds are on drivers side also oil filter filter is on an extension making the base of the filter face the front of the car

Could be one of those canadian (i think) 300ci engines that were in some F100's.
My brother had a F100 about 8y6yr ago and it boiled 40k from Hay on the Nerranderra side.
Took it to the Ford dealer in Hay and they said it had a Canadian motor of about 300ci from memory.
Im sure it even looked like an early 250.

Sounds like it could be an old pre x flow 250 (they had power by Ford on them). Although the oil filter has me stumped, maybe a mod to clear mounts or something. 250 is a common transplant in a Jeep C5 and C6 type (probably others too).

Is the inlet manifold and head 1 piece? If not, still wont discount it (could be 2v), but will confirm if it is.
