I have an XH XR6 Tickford Ute and I want to supercharge it, finding a supercharger is not problem and installing it is no problem either. I need to know what else would have to be performed on my engine for the supercharer to run correctly? I need to know do I have to do anything to my computer or air senser etc? Any help would be great.

Fuel system, engine management ie computer, fuel pump, lines injectors, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, find a great engine tuner.
what state are you in? |

check out www.capa.com.au
there supercharger kits come with everything down to the chip, but still a good tuner will be required for the charger to run at full potential...

its really easy on the fuel side of things.
fit a wlabro 255LPH intank pump or bosch 040. Alternatively fit a external pump. The T rex is a good option IMO. You need to test your intank though to ensure that is can adequately feed the external pump. These can be had for anywhere between 24lb or 30lb injectors would be required as well as a rising rate regulator. you can consider water injection also. |

oh and you will need a computer of some description to run larger injectors.

I picked up a CAPA kit and it was GREAT. The book explained everything for the installation, I got stuck on a couple of things but gave CAPA a call and they were only too helpful.
If you buy their kit then all you need is a healthy engine and a decent exhaust. As far as internals go, the CAPA kit is designed to keep your engine standard and therefore you retain the factory torque. I'd recommend it, then just have it tuned by someone reputable and with a knowledge of ford 6's and blowers.

wouldnt it be advisable to upgrade internals such as push rods? valves and spring? crank? you know all the major rotating parts? i dunno how big the charger your lookin at is but any boost will cause problems on a stock engine wont it?
holden's ecotec came in the standard v6 and a s/c v6. when a s/c was bolted to the standard 6 all hell broke loose. and just saying "thats coz its a holden" is no excuse. i would expect the same here even with a puny 3psi XR6 or not. sure it may be ford tough but i doubt it boost tough then again i could be wrong. have been many times b4....

the cappa kits are made to fit the standard engines and are designed and engineerd to do this. Im runinng a turbo on a standard AU engine 9.5:1 compression ratio and it is perfectly happy cause "it's all in the tune" . its the head gasket you really have to worry about, not so much the push rods? didn't know they had them.. im sure its overhead cam. sorry had to! but yeah if you want more, the fuel system needs to be upgraded, computer etc etc more and more adds up quickly, if you want the charger go the cappa kits.

These engines have plenty of fat engineered into them. I ran 7.5psi for a couple of years into a 170,000km engine and no problems at all.

the holden v6 s/c motors has much different internals because the standard internals arent that good. wrong compression ratio too fropm memory. a s/c v6 bottom end is a top notch bottom end belive it or not.
ebmaunal, i saw the push rods bit comming.......
