While 160 odd in an 80 zone is reasonably bad, the fact that there were no other cars on the road, it is probably not as bad as the guy at the end of the story:

In other news, a 28-year-old man from Mayfield in the Hunter Valley, driving a white Hyundai Excel, was pulled over by police in a routine stop and was allegedly found to have been banned from driving until 2073 due to previous charges.

Ye funny that, even though the BMW was behind the XR8 and would have been an easier target.

Why?? Just incase it was the Faber Castell heir (little pr!@k) off joy riding in another one of his dads cars, got off last time with the excuse that a BMW is designed for those speeds, mind you he didn't even have his licence at the time.

musta been stuck in 2nd at such a low speed , although going that fast in an 80 zone on a road meant for 110k was very stupid ..

That road isn't to bad for speed but 160ish defiantly pushing it. I have had two separate emails from friends asking if that was me who got caught (same vehicle, location and age), they must think I’m really silly lol.

Ha, ha, ha, ha.... what a crack up - the last guy banned from driving until 2073. I'm tippin' that if he he 28 now and and created so much havoc not be be allowed to drive for another 66 years, I doubt very much that he will be alive then anyway...

DPP appealed and won - he did lose his licence - and he was on his Ps at the time.

It happened at the Mooney Mooney bridge dipper on the f3 freeway on the downhill run. An unmarked highway patrol Magna got him on the other side - the actual speed they nicked him for was what he pulled off on the downhill run, and although he was speeding, he wasnt doing 180km/h plus the entire length of the f3 the way the media lets you believe.

Usually they would go for the car in front and take the reg of the second car, then knock on the front door. they dont usually get away...

Sport - he was indeed licensed. Sorry, I see Daves mentioned that.

Well that was the story at the time that he was only a learner driver, I stand corrected.

Geez 2073, oh well might as well save up and buy an electric wheel chair it's the only thing he'll be driving for the rest of his life.

On another note here's another one 100km's over the limit.

a lot of people driving at and over 100kmph of the posted limit... I think it's a sign we need to build every street/road/fwy/hwy as an autobahn!! : :eclipsee_

Without naming names, that fellow was a habitual offender who I have had dealings with whilst at work. He is a liar and a waste of space and Mayfield(western suburb of Newcastle) will be a better place without him.
