Thought it would have been around the 30k mark........to me that makes the XR4 (if of course it is in fact released at around 30k driveaway) just a tad too expensive imo, but we'll see.

Hmmm, as nice a car as the XR-4 will be, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to be up and selling a perfectly good Zetec for one unless you were going to buy a new car anyway.

It just seems like a waste of a lot of money for the same car with some extra gear and a few more ponies under the bonnet.

I feel most guys here could spend half the difference in price from upgrade to a XR-4 in making their Zetec into something just as special and just as fast if they use the money wisely.

But for those who do get one, lucky bastards!!!

Adsy01 yes the XR4 is pretty much a Zetec with 36more kilowats (50% more power) a bodykit and interior. But buying the XR4 over a modded Zetec comes with one MAJOR advantage, XR4 will have a New Car warranty while a modded zetec won't.

But I don't think ill be getting one

Back on the gearbox thing. Signup to the http://www.fiestastoc.com/ forums and have a look at some of the mods done there. Couple are running close to 200bhp doesn't seem to be any sign of gearbox troubles on there yet.

Why is a clutch plate going to do anything? If anything an upgraded clutch is actually going to be HARDER on the gearbox then a stock one.
