eh, its on xbox 360 at the moment, it aint a bad game, there are better. i like the fact you can have the window down and here the engine more, the graphics have flaws and the driving aint that realistic... my 2 cents

Test Drive 2 (The Duel) on the C64 was my favourite C64 game EVER!!!

Even though there was a 5 minute wait between levels loading from the tape! lol...

Yea, it is in the same series...its still going!

Test Drive used to be made by Accolade. I still have the Test Drive II box for Commodore 64. The music for Test Drive II on C64 was awesome. Sound was also good. Makes the PC look like garbage.

Yes, they are part of the same series.

Accolade made the best game ever -->Star Control II. 1992, and for its day, the graphics, sound, music and story are the best I've ever seen in a game relative to its day.

Accolade was bought out by Infogrammes, who were then bought out by Atari.

I have been waiting for this game for about a year. Played the demo and it was GARBAGE. The handling is terrible.

Its a good idea the way the game is set out though. Your pretty much on a huge island, and everyone you see driving on these roads are real people. To race u just flash ur lights at em, pick a route, and ur off.

I never played the demo but have read the finished game is a hell of a lot different to the full game & alot of peolpe agree with what you said.

I have to say I am addicted to it & find the handling to be pretty good.

I wish i had a bloody 360 now, i played the demo at my mates place, although very arcady its a good concept and has, along with games like saints row, forza, and another i cant remember the name of, changed me over to an Xbox man, the PS3 has lost its gloss, since they keep postponing it and the like, all i gotta do is save now

lol , i too used to have testdrive 1 & 2 on the commodore64 . / great games /.lol , and on the amiga !, those pc's were pretty good for their time , unbelivable what was achieved with 64k , even more so with the vic 20 ! ..lol.

I still remember too the first gaming console , the CD32 ( made by amiga ) , that was awesome for its time too , i use to love the rpg game "Beneath a steel sky" , that unit had the first of the dvd format to ! , back then known as full motion video ( FMV ) - which amiga bought/owned the rights to from 'Phillips' . The cd32 only lasted 3 years due to bad marketing (then game consoles weren't seen for years after), amiga had the deal signed for 10 years !.
3 years after the CD32's passing (when sales were down and amiga stoped producing the cd32) / and 7 years later the deal broke and out came fmv again released (with a few minor upgrades) as dvd . Amazing how sooooooooo much has changed so quick over the last few years !

Makes me think back now , i remember when i first got on the net / 386 pc's were the norm ! , i was using my amiga 1200 to access the internet / darn i had to enter dns addressess , ip addresses , set all the protocols etc etc just to sial in ! / all auto these days ..lol.
It was amazing how much of the internet was Amiga orientated back in the earlly days / until javascript came along and amiga didn't keep up with browser interfaces ( around the time of the pentium 1 ! / which the windows/ibm operating system pc's started to take over the net ) .

Beneath a Steel Sky is NOT an RPG. It's an adventure game.
Role Playing generally consists of starting with a base player of a certain class, which determines your stats, abilities as well as style.

Beneath a Steel Sky simple required walking around, talking, picking up items while the main character, Robert Foster (or in reality, Overmann) changes in no way. Other great adventures are Police Quest I-III, Space Quest, Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Monkey Island, Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Benders.

Many great games.

But BASS had great music.

Sorry about that. But the adventure genre was and still is my favourite genre ever. Pity it's a dead one though.

First person shooters are too popular now. Doom 3 bored me.

Star Control II is the best game ever. Play it!

Gee there was soooo many good games back then , i pretty much had them all . I think my oldman was one of the first people to be charged with piracy back in those days !. We sold games in the trading post back in those days , did it for years until the oldman got busted , got a $10,000 fine and all disks were taken ( we had about 50 double disk cases ! / alot of disks !, and $10,000 was alot of money back then / still is now ! , but even more so back then. ).

It's something im not too proud about these days though as our piracy probably contributed to the problem of the commodore64 and amiga going down hill (alot of the software company gave up on amiga due to low game sales ! ) . :( , it's a shame too , i loved those pc's , i knew them inside out , they had alot of potential , especially the amiga ! , i still have 3d programs on my amiga 1200 these days from years back that kill any pc 3d software in the way of easy of use and the gfx are just as good as todays pc's still ! .

Just thought I would dig this up.

It is now out on PS2 now, it differs slightly from the 260 version but you dont miss out on the good stuff, and apparently the physics engine is upgraded.

Ill be getting it in a few days, looks good!

Heres a PS2 link, video is also there.

The best thing about it is having bikes and cars

(Ps2 version won't have bikes apparently)

I have MV Augusta Tambourine - Ninja zx-10r - ducati 999...plus a plethora of super cars from the saleen s7 - F1 Maclaren GTR down to convertible mustangs.....the game is a bit daunting at first but persist and it get you very addicted...also racing real people and taking there money is very fun
