Default help i think im gettin ripped off please help

hey guys i need some help i went to the wrecker to get the parts to convert to mpfi and there tryin to charge me $420 bucks and from what iv read in the forums i should be payn $150 to $250 and every wrecker i go to adds another part the original list is
manifold, fuel rail, injectors, tps isc and air temp sensors, air con bracket and the two bolts for it, mpfi manifold loom, brake booster hose breather hose and map sensor hose

the wreckers added
mpfi e.c.u., distributer, accel cable, air box and duct, fuel pump,ecu loom

so what i need to know is what do i actually need

my car as it sits now is 1990, cfi, 4sd auto and also
beside it is a 1989 5spd man (complete car )which will go in with the mpfi convert

everyting you've listed is required, saying that, wrecker prices depend on where you go, the cheaper prices are most liekly those from a self serve wrecker where you get all the bits you need yourself, ends up cheaper but more work.
deffinately need the parts the wreckers are including.

also worth lookin at getting the heater pipes from the MPFI car too.

i got a quote for $800 for all of the bits and pieces, more than my car was worth....

For that kind of money you're probably better off buying a whole MPFI EA to raid for parts.

Most wreckers will tear you a new one if you don't know what things are worth. Eg, a whole EA from the auctions is worth around $100.

+1 for buying a donor car, then you can sell the rest of it when you get all the parts you need.

Is it cheaper and better to just get a new engine like an el or au they are about $500 bucks from the wreckers!!
